21stcenturyinvestor.com -free good education. I am as usual deeply depressed at the outpourings here. The only people who sneer at options are the losers who are too dim to trade options. They buy overpriced stock and quietly cry into their pillow at night. The keys to good trading are good education, find something that suits YOU, keep excellent records so you know at a glance if you are making money. I'm pretty sure most of the whining numpties here are just losers. Ignore them and find your own way. I've been trading options for 17 years and make money. Most of all.....enjoy the journey I LOVE trading

There is a lot to be learned from tastytrade in addition to the recommended books. McMillan, cottle, etc. you will see the same books referenced over and over and those are the ones to check out.
Read and understand Natenburgs book on options. No get rich quick garbage just the straightforward facts on options. For goodness sake don't waste your money "following profitable traders". If they were legit they wouldn't be trying to sell sub services
Most of the answers here are tremendously wrong. I don't care who you are, but nobody can successfully predict the market. Everytime I read something like that I am reminded of the Robert Deniro movie about sports booky/brokers. YOU AND NOBODY ELSE CAN PREDICT THE MARKET LONG TERM. Sure, you can get lucky for a while but eventually you will lose everything if you try. Just hang around here and watch all the people that end up saying they blew up multiple accounts.
Do yourself a favour and go to http://tastytrade.com > Find Shows > Where Do I Start (Season 1). Goto the last page (page 20) and start watching the videos backwards. It starts from the very beginning.
If you watch 1 video per day you will understand what to do within 2 weeks. And expand your knowledge tremendously after that.
