10-year @ 3%. Is it really the end of it for stocks?
Ah, you must have forgotten the #1 rule on Wall Street
...
I know a hair piece or fake hair or extension when I see it.-- I would be laughing or smiling at Matthew McConaughey's hairline, if I were sitting across him from that table and he were talking to me.
Living on Long Island in the 1980s, I remember seeing ads in either Newsday or the Pennysaver classifieds (can't remember which) these cheesy want ads for super-hot salespeople to come in and apply as penny-stock traders. I also recall very vividly how I thought it might be something for me, but then learned about all the "cold-calling" required and thinking that is not what I wanted to do. Would not be surprised one bit if one of those ads was from Stratton-Oakmont.
In fact, those ads are where I first saw the words "pink sheet" and "OTC". I had absolutely zero knowledge of anything about the markets ever back then.
But it did get me interested in always looking at the New York Times business section each day on the page where it listed the previous day's stock price and major market index stats.
