I'm not defending an obnoxious drunk. Throw her out of the game, arrest her, whatever. I'm just saying a cop who looks like an NFL defensive lineman has no business hitting a defenseless woman with his fist while she is being held by other cops. That is such an obvious conclusion I am shocked that any of you could doubt it.

She maybe brushed his face as she was being slung around by the other cops. To call that an assault is ridiculous.

Excusing this kind of blatant police overreaction does no one any favors, least of all the cops who somehow think this kind of abuse is ok. At a minimum this cop lost his cool, which is bad enough, or perhaps he thought, now I have an excuse to tune up this bitch. Either way, he should be fired and prosecuted.

He should be celebrated for having the courage to stand up to the white privilege that that woman represents.

A cop who looks like he goes 250 pounds at least punches a girl who was virtually passed out, while she was being carried by other cops? What could possibly justify such an action. He could have killed her.

The one good thing that should, but probably won't, come from this is his superiors now have proof positive that he totally lacks the judgment and self control to be a police officer.

This is not a racial matter, although I suspect the fact she was white had a lot to do with his eagerness to hit her.
