I don't get why you think that we cannot support our people and have immigrants at the same time lol. You are framing the argument as if immigrants are taking much-needed resources from people born here, but I have yet to see evidence of this. I would also argue that immigrants (people that take risk to leave their home) are more akin to early American settlers/explorers, and being structurally more open than other countries has allowed the US to maintain a more robust start-up/small business culture than others.That's all great to know but to me, descendants of immigrants shouldn't really be counted as immigrants because otherwise where do you draw the line? Nobody is really really 100% home grown native to the land in North America... they became great because of their own efforts and the education and the cultivation that they received in the United States of America.
