Unfettered immigration has never been the solution to ANYTHING... yet rather a HUGE source of problems. (The native Americans welcomed European settlers onto N. American land.. and look what happened to THEM poor bastards!)

France "welcomed" Muslim invaders into their country, and look how France has virtually become a Muslim country.

And the problem is they didn't even accomplish anything or add anything to the country. Oh ok sure that African spiderman saved that boy from that balcony from that high-rise building but still that's just one case.

Would be the same thing if robotics is built and the productivity is increased to generate higher revenues. That would increase the tax base of the government just the same if not even more. The issue is productivity; that's the whole purpose of having more people which is to put them to work but if you can have something that robotics that works better with higher productivity, why do we need people?

Hate to burst your bubble but Americans don't really want to study those fields that produce the innovation. More than 1/2 of all STEM Phd's granted in the USA go to foreign students. And in the critical areas of Math, Physics and Computer Science the percentage is much higher.

"Wants" can be cultivated. If the government tomorrow puts in grants for all who studies math and science and scholarship and I mean huge scholarships like that for sports for Math and Science whiz and guaranteed job after graduation and at the same time promote more positive images in public media about people who excel in math and science instead of always depicting them as annoying nerds, people will want to study Math and Science. It's all in the matter of perception.

And besides what's the point of teaching these foreign studies all the knowledge of science when they are just going to turn around and go back to their own countries to build their own countries?

And also at the same time, WHY can't we just be happy with the people who are already here who want to stay and build a life here? Plenty of countries are doing really well without getting more people to their own countries.

Nonsense. The overwhelming majority (80% of legal immigrants and 98%+ of illegals) are from regions with significantly lower development levels and average IQs. Even if they weren't, the USA was already the world's preeminent economic and technological power prior to the recent flood - we were doing just fine without them. On the other hand, the huge costs of overpopulation, diversity, and endless social & political discord are permanent and will only worsen.
