that's another sign of crisis in DC. they said no because if they say yes-it could back fire on them on their next election.

so-it's better for them to do nothing.keep kicking the can..that's why i lost my hope in US,specially after this election. cause i see no leadership coming from DC..there is will be no changes,gvt will not scale down, debt will balloon soon under current commander and chief.

Haven't read the entire thread so someone may have posted this but the only thing I get in my mailbox is medical bills and junk mail. All my other bills are electronic and it wouldn't be hard for medical bills to become electronic. It's probably already in the works. The USPS is a dinosaur and will eventually go extinct. There are certain important things the USPS delivers such as 90-day supplies of Meds but beyound that I don't believe they do anything different that UPS of FED EX couldn't do if they chose to. It would be a deliver on deman system. In other words, no mail 6 days per week. You order something it will get delivered by someone other than USPS at a higher price. Welcome to the technological revolution. It absolutely dwarfs the industrial revolution and it's still in its infancy. I wonder what the world will look like in 50 years.... I doubt I'll be around to find out. Maybe 30 or 40 years :D

Their analysis attempted to control for occupation, years of work experience, geographic location (region of the country and urban or rural location), size of employer, and various demographic characteristics (age, sex, race, ethnicity, marital status, immigration status, and citizenship). Their conclusion should come as no surprise: When you account for both wages and benefits, Uncle Sam is generous toward those with less than a college degree and stingy toward those with PhDs or professional degrees.

What does that chart have to do with your claim that programmers make 50k and can only look forward to that same pay 10 years from now?
