Using real names on message boards

I know you are half joking but from your reply you obviously missed my point.

Allowing one person at random (the person I was replying to BTW, who was not you) to have your credit card number has a very low chance of causing anything bad to happen

Posting your credit card on the internet would require me to cancel the card, have a new card issued. Not a huge deal but still a pain in the butt.

Letting a random waiter or the patron in line behind the waiter see your credit card number is nothing like putting it out there for the entire world to Google.

Agree, I didn't miss your point and I do know your posted had been as a reply to someone else.

Out of curiosity...do you have a car alarm, home security, own a gun for protection???

I'm not too worry about someone stealing my credit card to make a purchase...

My credit card company can easily fix that.

I'm worry about someone using my credit card info to gain access to more important private information...

As mentioned earlier in this thread...it can be used as a foot in the door sort'uv speak.

Its like walking around wearing a helmet because something might drop out of the sky and kill you. Could it happen? Sure. Is it likely?

Actually I do walk around with a Seahawk helmet on because not
too long ago a small plane lost part of it's wing or something and
a 5 foot long pole came down and crashed through the roof of an
elderly couple, just missing them by a few feet. They only lived about
five miles from here.

Never can be too safe...:D

been reading this thread and its not poking fun at you, more at the difference between canadians and americans in general.

I DONT own a gun, dont have a car alarm or even lock my car doors for that matter, and i dont lock the door to my house/have an alarm even when im gone, just kind of funny to see the difference in how much americans distrust other people as opposed to canadians.

not saying were better just 2 totally different cultures living so close together.

You guys are just killing me here. This thread should be renamed the "why I'm paranoid" thread.

How about...

"Enjoy your Meal - Read you Credit Card Bill at the end of the Month"

"How to disquise yourself as a cafeteria food cart employee while carrying thousands of dollars"

:D :p :D

Oh oh...

Who is American and who is Canadian???

However, growing up in the U.S., living abroad in other countries and living in Canada (Quebec)...

Your right...how people approach their security is different most of the time via just comparing the countries.

I do have a car alarm...only after someone broke into my car and stole my stereo system.

It freaked my spouse out because she has never been a victim of any type of crime.

She felt more violated than me and was clearly shaken up about it.

Me...no biggie...I went out and got a car alarm.

Sometimes you run up a big bill and you didn't bring enough cash
to cover it. Kind of like a margin call. What would you do then?...:p

Or you take quite a few relatives out to dinner and you KNOW it
is going to be a big bill. Do you carry around that much cash?

I don't. I've been mugged before. It can cost you all your money.

nope i dont, but if i walked behind a waitress every single time i eat out..id make sure i had enough cash to foot the bill. :p
