Thanks to rising yields, the US government now has to spend more each year on servicing its immense debt burden than it spent on national defense in 2022.

The calculation is based on estimated annualized debt payments as of end of April versus the Treasury’s release of last year’s budget expenditures.

Interest costs burning up bucks or bombs stuck in the ground never to be fired. Don't get me started on the absolute absurd cost of the F35 Joint Strike Fighter per jet as one over the top example. But it makes Pols happy because "they are bringing home the bacon" to their districts.

Both are a losing game we have been playing for decades.

for those responsible for this mess.

Well as long as you do something or take a stand, there will always always be somebody who won't like what you did and will try to attack you so you would have no choice but to defend yourself.
