US markets will close up today

Quote from frank grimes:

surf...this guy NAILED the bottom..today at least, he made 15+ handles! hopefully, even if he didn't he had beautiful timing!

Look through most of the threads in this section - people have been predicting 'MARKET WILL FINISH POSITIVE TODAY!!!' for the last few weeks; eventualyl somebody has to make the right call.

Actually, No
This is the only thread that pointed this out in real time.

Good call minitrader.

that was my point, there are endless bottom callers here, Mymini nailed it, w/in a tick or 2, all the others call them at will. volente, the quick but gone stktrdr (i think) made massive bottom calls from 1320ish to here!...Mymini nailed the bottom (taday at least) but it was a 15 handle reversal. he should be commended

Yes that bugs my wife to, I quit school in the 10th grade, as you can see my grammer and correct use of word is lacking.

The one positive that has come from my lack of a formal education is my kids will sure get one. They both are honor roll students. 4th and 9th grade.

God has blessed me with a positive personality, I dont have to try and fake being happy I am by nature just happy. I wake up look in the mirror and say this is going to be an awesome day.

an old buddy of mine who made about 40M at CME was only a high school graduate from a Chicago public H.S.

Minitrader: Here's a real prediction for you...

Obviously tomorrow will be an up day. But, will it be a trending day with few if any retracements? The fact that you're taking so much credit for a seemingly random dumb-luck call, I'd like to pick your ingenious brain a bit.

Do tell.

Quote from frank grimes:

why will today be an up day?

Because we pierced through and ended up above the 3-day rolling pivot range. Additionally, we got the rare occurence of a completely failed C Down (see The Logical Trader).

Tomorrow will show us either a very wide opening range to the upside, which we'll consolidate in all day or... a trending day. Either way, count on a big opening range... whether we trend up out of it depends upon just how wide as an order of magnitude compared to the average OR width it is.

But, given the fact that yesterday's High and Close were so close to one another and so far away from the low (pivot range compression), tells me we're in for a solid move to the upside. However, as always, the market tends to not allow one to buy at good prices when a move is imminent. Expect a gap-up opening and then see my paragraph 2 comments.
