US markets will close up today

Quote from FaderTrader:

I love it when luck masquerades as skill. How much did you pour into bottom picking before catching an actual move? Sutract that from today's gains and you have your real return - likely still net negative.

This comment is a bit midleading. I'm not sure I'd call a midday rally reliable after a weak morning, considering if you simply bought breakouts last month and marketed at close, you'd be up huge.

Your comments might be an example of two different strategies working for different reasons, but where do you get out if you're wrong and it keeps going? Seems highly sujective and prone to human error/judgement.

Of course you put stops in case you're wrong. And these can be "subjective" or "objective"--whatever works for your risk level and capital.

It has been said that the strongest signal in technical analysis is the failed signal. Failed breakouts (or breakdowns) trap people on the other side, and to cut the losses they must sell (buy).

You want to be on the right side when there is panic selling (like yesterday) or panic buying (like today). Emotion should work for you, not against you.

Futures Truth tested some systems based on this concept some years ago. The results are in a manual by Gary Smith, Profitable Daytrading in the Stock Futures.

Nice job....as far as an intra-day call....excellent work.....

Now if you could downsize your ego a bit others might not take shots at you when ya get clipped....

while others might call it a guess...dumb luck.... you made a great call...at the end of the day its not why ya did it....but the fact that ya did it....

a word of advice.though...take it for what its worth..but posting screenshots of your account is kinda minor league.....

Excellent call, mini. Looks like we're closing with a long-tailed candlestick hammer and diverging RSI on the major indices. Back up the truck and buy. At least for a short to intermediate trade anyway.

Look who's talking.

Look, there's nothing wrong at all with questioning or disagreeing but you have to admit that this board has had an ongoing problem with people who come into a thread and talk a TON of shit because they're having some fantasy about being a floor-trading tough guy. That makes it impossible to have an informal chat about the market, which is all this is.

Not sure where I have shown that I have an ego problem...please point it out.....

...not sure being a floor tader is a thing to brag about there friend....5-10 yrs ago was the place to be....I traded in Chicago for years (off the floor) and my buddies who are still in the sp pit have been going through rough times for years now...

ya might wanna re-direct your fire at someone else....but I agree...a good part of this place is 2 lot traders who wont shut the fuck up when they make 300 bucks......

What happened to the 5 longs on Monday? Or the 2 longs you held overnight from yesterday?
No screenshots of your losers.
