US infrastructure is at the verge of collapsing.

Quote from Ivanovich:

I'm sorry, I have to laugh at this thread. There may be flaws and problems building in the US Infrastructure system that are serious for America. But in comparison to many, many other countries, the US is head and shoulders above most of the world.

Ever take a drive through rural Russia? Or how about in the mountains of Georgia (and I don't mean the US State). What about bridges in the countryside of China, or Vietnam? How about aging powerplants in half a dozen or more South American countries?

Please. Stop it.

What about bridges in china? it is the direction that counts.
interesting that u are comparing the US to 3rd world countries in SA without admitting that this the direction the US is currently headed.

Quote from Debaser82:

I read in another article posted some time ago a lot of the superior and more modern German and Japanese infrastructure could be attributed to the fact they got blown to pieces in WWII.

The US didnt have that advantage.

Funny way of looking at it but it does sound as if it has some merit.:)

lets update it from events of 65 years which may no longer have relevance.i guess since africa and eastern europe don't have all the telephone copper wire in the ground.they have the advantage that they are getting wireless from the start. cover story of the economist is on cellular in africa and its positive effect on productivity.

Quote from jueco2005:

I am a fan of the history channel. Last night I watched a new program about America's ever growing infrastructure. I though I had seen it all in movies like FOOD Inc and Sicko.

The 2003 northeast blackout is just a warning of things to come.

The future of our Economy lies on the well functioning of our infrastructure.

Interesting years lie ahead.
Add to this that Munis are broke.
