I really don't get the mindset/psychology that would allow an individual to state that at this point in history. I ain't giving up my guns either, but I don't vote as an NRA proxy. I value my family's life, as I am sure you do.

Yeah I voted for Hills, and yeah, my wife's w-2 will go up $45K or so due to the GOP tax cut. I was up $28K last week so it's meaningless any way you look at it. We can all count our newfound riches while we're filling our bathtubs with drinking water before the Cesium fallout hits the water-table.

Their destroyers are not running into tankers and freighters. They have very capable attack subs, plus advanced missile and air arms. Plus, they have not attacked us. We are the aggressors here. At some point Putin will have to respond. Given the likely chain of escalation, that could be game over.

Trump is being advised by people who think the Iraq, Afghanistan and Libyan adventures were great ideas that were just mishandled by Obama. That should give anyone pause. Obviously neo cons are co-opted by Israel and both parties by Saudi money. The other explanation is that they are really that dumb, which is outside the realm of human possibility, with the possible exception of John McCain and Lindsey Graham.

This is a tricky situation with Syria and Russia (and Iran). My concern is with Trump himself, not with the US military capabilities.

Trump is doing double duty here, regardless of what he does or does not do.

That is to say, he is sending a message to Syria which will also be a message for North Korea. Strength or lack thereof is the only message or signal that both Syria and North Korea follow. I could add in Russia, China, and Iran too but Assad and Little Rocket Man are one-dimensional to the extreme.
