Saudi Arabia is not our real ally. They just pretend. Israel, for example, is a true ally and so is Canada.
However, what some people refuse to understand is that changes in some parts of the world are very slow. SA actually is moving in a right direction by tiny steps.
Trump however will always side with anyone who praises him, makes no difference how good/bad they are. If Iran was singing praises to him, he would be meeting Ayatollahs and telling us how great/smart they are.

The emboldening of dictatorships that was certain, copying Trump's style is as expected.
This graphic was not an 'accident' (or "the Canadian Ambassador returning to Canada".. FFS that is thin by Trump standards) and anyone who doubts Saudi the state as the most significant breeding ground for terrorism is a moron. The state can say what it wants, it has allowed wealthy people fund whatever they can, only cracking down for political partisan reasons.
Due to Trump's influence we have a country releasing this and then saying oops! Many people in Saudi are PROUD Osama gave the US a bloody nose on 9/11. Don't think otherwise.
Hopefully countries like the UK will refuse to take the relocated Saudi students.

I never said all Canadians are pussies. Canada -- well Anglo-Canada -- has a long tradition of bravery in WW1 and WW2. French Canadians -- who generally sat out both wars -- have a long tradition of cowardice.

Israel still a true ally of the United States? When was the last time Israel sent troops to support an American effort? It’s been a while since Israel has actually supported the US in a substantial way. Our relationship has become we are the givers and they are the takers under Netanyahu.
Under Netanyahu Israel has become more of a political ally of the GOP. The GOP makes sure Israel gets hundreds of millions of dollars and the Israeli government backs republicans domestically.
Anyone who follows Israeli politics knows the entire Netanyahu coalition is built around the fact he can get the republicans to dump money into Israeli defenses and back Likud Middle East policy.
Support for israel is going down among democrats because there is only so much blatant partisanship they will accept in our foreign relations.
I’d also like to ask why we give any aid to any country that has government funded universal healthcare, when we don’t provide it here? We are basically paying for the Israeli’s healthcare system.
It’s really tough because Israel is experiencing something very similar to America in terms of leadership and division among the population. By and large, we share the same values.
But it’s hard to ignore the lack of support for American causes and the increase in American support for Israeli defenses under Netanyahu.
