*This will rock a few boats but i think it’s time to rethink our relationship with Israel.
Israel still a true ally of the United States? When was the last time Israel sent troops to support an American effort? It’s been a while since Israel has actually supported the US in a substantial way. Our relationship has become we are the givers and they are the takers under Netanyahu.
Under Netanyahu Israel has become more of a political ally of the GOP. The GOP makes sure Israel gets hundreds of millions of dollars and the Israeli government backs republicans domestically.
Anyone who follows Israeli politics knows the entire Netanyahu coalition is built around the fact he can get the republicans to dump money into Israeli defenses and back Likud Middle East policy.
Support for israel is going down among democrats because there is only so much blatant partisanship they will accept in our foreign relations.
I’d also like to ask why we give any aid to any country that has government funded universal healthcare, when we don’t provide it here? We are basically paying for the Israeli’s healthcare system.
I think it is important to understand that there are factions with in the Jews that really affect politics. The majority of US Jews are Reform for example. The majority of Israeli's loud Jews are Orthodox leaning or as secular can be pressured this way. Ivanka and Jared are Orthodox as are/were many of Trumps Jewish friends.
The Orthodox (and that can be sub divided) regard the Reform as a bunch of idiot hippie liberals (female Rabbis etc), who they really would prefer to be able to say are not Jews at all but they do like the money sent from the US. Reform Jews were even denied full rights as Jews as the Western (wailing) wall, their US head literally beaten. They are not happy bedfellows.

28 Democrats and 2 Republicans.. Bernie an independent now.
Support for Zionism in the US is waning fast among most US Jews (reform, some "conservative", also not Orthodox) as Israel gets more hard-line against them. Yeah, we will take your money fake Jews (this is literally the term that has been used) but STFU about our policies. This results in the Orthodox American Jews getting louder and louder, more extreme trying to control more as a small segment of American Jews, a proxy for Israel's interest.
