Agree that it should be that it should be time limited. However, there need to be workfare or some other help for those not longer eligible for unemployment benefits and still cannot find work.

Many people stop looking after over 1000 applications. Some will never see a decent job again due to age or gap in profession.

Besides government jobs and Wall Street, many rank and file workers end up in poverty begging for jobs with slavery wages.

There are employed low-wage workers living in their vans/cars here in So Cal. Not all are fortunate enough to live with mom and dad or getting other benefits that help them.

Well its only fair if you have 200k in debt? People keep talking about how lazy new generation is and they worked 15k a year jobs in 1980 but they dont realize in 1980 houses were like 30k now houses are like 400k and salaries are only 50k. So buying power actually waned, also student debts are much bigger. Plus you might say people working at pizza hut thats good no its not, nowadays most big firm employers will not hire you exactly because you took a job below your standard. It must mean you weren't good enough to be hired for your standard.

Make a sign saying "sick lame lazy" and hold it all day, collect some coin, get a bottle and some toke and go hang in an encampment....... you don't have the choicest of women but otherwise it's cool. Unemployment insurance should be capped at 20 grand per year, with a 5K stipend per dependent. The benefit period should be capped at 12 months, unless it's a national emergency (Depression).

There are menial jobs to be had, and plenty of illegals to deport.

Accountability is what makes our system work. Take that away, and nobody cares that Government outsourced jobs to Chindia, that Wallstreet blew a catastrophic bubble, that their credit cards are maxed out, and they took a mortgage and car loan they couldn't afford.

People have to suffer the financial consequences of their actions.

The best remedy for the over-extended is liquidation. My 2 cents.

What happened to his home equity, IRA, savings account, car(s) and other assets that could be liquidated ?
