U.S. markets should be set to soar when they open.

Quote from Epic:

Well, not exactly. The argument isn't that government spending crowds out private spending. The argument also doesn't have much to do with opportunity cost. In economic terms it deals with dead weight loss. DWL is pretty much irrefutable and both sides agree that it exists. The debate is not over whether or not there is DWL, but rather whether it is acceptable.
Fair enough, but neither is that our situation, is it? Mother Nature has imposed this DWL.

At any rate, how are stock futures looking today? Lol, good work there, Max.

Your video puts it in such simple language you would think even a liberal or communist could understand it. But not Ricter. He can only think in collective farm terms these days.

This is why I put Richter on ignore. He's not a bad guy like most of my ignore list, but he is so obssessed with marxist economic analysis that it is pointless to engage him. Everything is reduced to the class struggle dialectic or gini coefficients. It's a fatally flawed apporach, so it's a waste fo time to even discuss it.

Quote from Max E. Pad:

According to our resident Keynesian bozos, Hurricane Sandy should be a massive stimulus program, Krugman must be having a tough time holding in his blatter he is so excited for the job creation that is coming. the markets will probably be up atleast 10% when they re-open. Obama just got his stimulus program, Green shoots baby!!! BUY BUY BUY!!!

Sandy is a huge economic stimulus for the north east. Every able bodied man that wants employment can get it. Home Depot and Lowes have hired extra workers, there are thousands of insurance adjusters in the area. Motels and hotels are packed, RV parks that are usually closed this time of year are full. And the list goes on and on. Yes this is a disaster for many living there and very sad for some people. That doesn't change the fact that much economic activity has been generated in the area from Sandy.

It's beyond stupid to think this is a STIMULUS...
Saying it like it's a good thing...
like this is a POSITIVE...
It's NOT!

If you think so, then throw a rock through your living room window....and see the smile on the window guy who comes to collect your money...as you shell it out to him, and take it from something else...

See "broken window fallacy". It might cure you of Krugmanitis.

yeah that makes about as much sense as adding debt spending to gdp.

no no no..this does work.

The insurance company cuts you a check for 1k for a new window, put up a 35$ sheet of plywood over the window and spend the rest of the money on a flat screen tv and ski trip.

LOL, could be one of the dumbest things i have ever read on elite trader, if this is really stimulative, why dont we just bulldoze the entire U.S. that way we can be back to world superpower in no time.

The scary thing is that people like you who actually believe in this nonsense are in control of the purse strings for 4 more years....

Nevertheless the reality is jobs ARE being created there. Maybe you don't like how. Maybe you don't think it works on a broader scale. Maybe they're just temporary jobs (of course they are). But jobs ARE being created there.
