tws paper error messagge "commodity segment does not exist"

I cannot trade in the active account either

a long time ago had the same problem
the problem could be eliminated by changing the global configuration defaults - futures of the total value limit and the algorithm limit to zero

unfortunately, this change has no effect today

That is even worse...

Was your account migrated to IE or HU?

Have you tested with different instruments (Futures, Stocks, FX)?

My real account (IE) is now working normally, my problem is "just" with Futures orders being rejected in paper account for almost 3 weeks now...

I only trade the Dax Future
I run both machines in parallel and the order is rejected on both
After moving to IE, I haven't changed any of the default settings, so it's a mystery to me
what is happening here
what is set with you in the presets Futurs in the setting regarding the margins ?

I didn't have to change any settings or presets in my TWS nor in my computer.

I only trade Stocks, Options and US Futures, but in order to try and help you I have just placed a buy order on Mini-Dax (Real Account) and it was accepted.

After moving to IE, I had to reconfigure several Trading Permissions (in Account Management) and had to reconfigure the statements delivery method as well. They messed up several of my previous account settings after moving my account to IE.

Have you done that already?

In any case go to the Account Management and re-check carefully if all settings and trading permissions are correct.

this could be a possibility that some trading permissions were mixed up.
this could be pointed out to the error message "unkown commodities"
i will check it and write the result tomorrow
 
Order rejected - reason:COULD NOT VALUE THIS CONTRACT AT THIS TIME
That is an error message which I receive on a regular basis, when trading futures. Even though I am with IB US. If you receive that error message you should just try again, or wait a while and try later.
 
I just got a reply from IB, after 10 days of my last communication:

"We are sorry that you have faced such issue.
Our technical department is still working to resolve it as quick as possible.
Once again we are sorry for the inconvenience."

Then they closed the inquiry. Really??

I reopened the inquiry and gave them a piece of my mind.

I am experiencing this damn problem for 20 days now, since they moved my account for IE. Some people here may have this problem for a longer period, I don't know.

I don't use the paper account for entertainment, I often really need it for testing what shouldn't be tested in the real account!!

This guys are absolutely incompetent and a real a pain in the a**!!

To all traders with these same problems:
Please keep pressing them, they are making all of us clowns!!

After reading your post I immediately logged in my paper account but it is still rejecting futures orders with the same message "Commodity segment does not exist"...

Is your account IE?

Did you need to change any settings or something?
