Particularly troublesome that this seems to be an intermittent issue. A week ago, the problem seemed finally resolved for me. Now it is back for me and seemingly some other people, but not for all. Not a good thing if you are trying to do some serious work / test with the paper trader. I will stay away from the paper trader for some time and check back in a few weeks.

You are absolutely correct.
But if you don't keep pressing IB Support, it might take forever until you have your paper account working properly again.
For me, the paper account is a very necessary tool that I often use to test and simulate what shouldn't be done in the real account. I don't use it for fun or anything else.

i have set all margin settings to -0- for patertrading in the settings
When you enter the order, you will receive an order confirmation with the message either submit or cancel.
that's how papatrading works for me again
