Trumps Tax Return

Listening to Rubio insult Trump today reminded me of why successful people have little interest in running for office. It was the same with Romney.

Rubio is a smalltime career pol who managed to get himself elected to the Senate on the Tea Party wave and with the help of Jeb!. He promptly backstabbed his supporters by signing on to the notorious Gang of 8 amnesty bill, then turned around and backstabbed his mentor Jeb! by running for president after 15 minutes in the Senate.

Trump turned a decent inheritance into a gigantic fortune, employs tens of thousands of people, has his own jet plane and a supermodel trophy wife and owns some of the world's finest golf courses. Trump is right--no one would be talking about immigration in this campaign but for him. Cruz is the only one who was halfway tough on it and he wanted to deal with the illegal problem by letting in hordes of guest workers ,etc.

So Trump's reward is to have to listen to this little twerp Rubio insult him on a daily basis. Seriously, if you had a business, you wouldn't hire Rubio to run the mail room. No experience, no track record, just a small time local pol, like Obama.

... and he is sweaty... all the time. Anxiety disorder.

Yeah, you nailed it man, the thing i love about business is that money talks and bullshit walks. It is rare that i have met traders who are killing it, who dont respect businessmen like Romney or Trump, regardless of whether or not they agree with them, because they understand the amount of pain and sacrifice it takes to get there.

In politics, the whole gig is to tear ppl down, and only someone who has spent their whole life in politics would even try to tear down a successful business persons career, clearly ppl like Rubio dont get it.

Its just a totally different skill set, and its why i have way more respect for anyone who made it in the private sector, then anyone who weaseled their way to the top in government. Politicians always seem to get their by being the biggest snake in the room, but when it comes to business you cant fake your pnl..... well i guess you could, but youd only be cheating yourself.

its interesting that freddie and piezoe think the people are being fooled by this situation. They think Trump is fooling people. No one is being fooled. The people sense he is the the best shot at actually sealing the borders and protecting jobs.

After being screwed by democrats on single payer and being lied to by Republicans for 20 years on every issue from obamacare to border security... the base no longer cares about anything a politicians says. We just want them out. The base is hoping Trump can do that. Maybe he can't but As Norman Lear said he is the bases middle finger to the establshment.

I read an article off drudge in the new york times today. it spoke about how worried establishment politicians were. It seem to be written from their perspective as if its crazy an establishment guy is not leading... and if they had just organized better or campaigned differently trump would be nothing.

The reality is... if the party had just done what it said it would day. Disbanded Obamacare - continued sequester type activities, closed the borders... they Rs would be in charge.

But... they screwed the base and now the base wants them gone. That Jeb only had 4% shows them how much the people hate them for being such traitors.

Yeah i saw the same article, if nothing else even if Trump doesnt win the election, atleast the message is loud and clear to the old school neocons, that they no longer set the agenda. Half of these cowards like Bill Kristol wont even admit that the Iraq war was a total disaster, and they try to attack Trump when he simply points out the obvious.

Ok wild hypothetical question:

What if, *after* winning the republican nomination Trump simply declared he is running in the general election as Independent. No republican in the general election?

If he did that i would try to figure out a way to vote twice for him, we really need an independent to win to kiss of whats left of the republican party. No doubt if trump did it, republicans would intentionally sandbag the election and throw someone like Rubion in to make sure the independent didnt win.

Oh I see. So they could still simply pick another candidate in a convention deal or something. Yes of course.

And I believe that one of us is fooling himself, but we won't know for certain which one of us that is until later in the year. Meanwhile, TV is going to get very interesting.

With a choice between Trump and Hillary in the general election, can we simply choose to not have a president for the next four years?

Then the chances of him winning in November are slim to none.

Not sure I follow you.

The republican party is not helping Trump, they are attacking him relentlessly.

I understand that they can just pick another candidate if he went Independent but I don't see why leaving the republican party causes him to lose. Is it because the replacement republican "nominee" would siphon off votes from him?
