I think Rubio is making a strategic error. I agree that he should have gone after Trump earlier, but he did not have to stoop to Trump-level standards. He could have attacked Trump on substance, and substance alone. It would have given the people a show, which they apparently want, but without degrading himself in the process. Instead, he has started dabbling with Trump Lite at his rallies.

I am not a Trump supporter. However I am a political realist. Historically, candidates like Trump tend to sweep elections. When they actually get into office they tend to be the best leader a country ever had or the worst leader. The problem is that you don't know how these type of narcissistic candidates will turn out.
Watch how many times Rubio calls Trump a conman, hes back on autobot, im sure the GOP establishment has thoroughly focus tested the insult and now they are trying to make it stick.
If it was as easy as buying companies and chopping them up for the firesale, everyone would have done it, he chopped some, he built some, he helped with Venture capital with some. Anyone with that kind of career in business is going to have some shady deals, im sure youve seen stuff from Soros you arent proud of.
Bottom line is that Bain had one of the most impressive streaks of returns on wall street in history, that doesnt come by chance over that many years.
There is substance there. Trump University was an outright con. Some of the other stuff is debatable. However, he shouldn't have talked about Trump's makeup and Trump wetting his pants and so on. That's Trump's exclusive preserve, and I think it will cost him in the end.
Im surprised Trump University hasnt come up until now, i used to get spam emails from those cockroaches all the time, it boggles the mind that someone would drop five figures to go to a school named after a reality star.
I'm not disputing that Romney did well for Bain. I'm sure he did. It's largely the state of everyone else whom he left in his wake that I think is left for "interpretation." As for Soros, he has expressed regret for some unintended consequences of certain of his actions. I don't recall Romney being nearly as circumspect. Regardless, let's let sleeping dogs lie.

the only people getting conned are the ones who are debating which candidate has the best policy. After 7 years of Obama we are well beyond policy. It should be obvious policy doesn't matter when selecting a President.
Listening to Rubio insult Trump today reminded me of why successful people have little interest in running for office. It was the same with Romney.
Rubio is a smalltime career pol who managed to get himself elected to the Senate on the Tea Party wave and with the help of Jeb!. He promptly backstabbed his supporters by signing on to the notorious Gang of 8 amnesty bill, then turned around and backstabbed his mentor Jeb! by running for president after 15 minutes in the Senate.
Trump turned a decent inheritance into a gigantic fortune, employs tens of thousands of people, has his own jet plane and a supermodel trophy wife and owns some of the world's finest golf courses. Trump is right--no one would be talking about immigration in this campaign but for him. Cruz is the only one who was halfway tough on it and he wanted to deal with the illegal problem by letting in hordes of guest workers ,etc.
So Trump's reward is to have to listen to this little twerp Rubio insult him on a daily basis. Seriously, if you had a business, you wouldn't hire Rubio to run the mail room. No experience, no track record, just a small time local pol, like Obama.
