Trump’s Lies vs. Obama’s Lies

If you couldn't keep your plan its because your employer or private insurer canceled it,not the government.

The requirements of Obamacare caused many policies to be cancelled, caused the re-alignment of doctors under existing plans, and drove large premium increases.

In 2009 PolitiFact has won the Pulitzer Prize for National Reporting for coverage of the 2008 election. Since then they have gone completely downhill and become a dishonest, biased news source.

PolitiFact has been documenting Trump’s statements on our Truth-O-Meter, where we’ve rated 76 percent of them Mostly False, False or Pants on Fire, out of 77 statements checked. No other politician has as many statements rated so far down on the dial.

In considering our annual Lie of the Year, we found our only real contenders were Trump’s -- his various statements also led our Readers’ Poll. But it was hard to single one out from the others. So we have rolled them into one big trophy.

To the candidate who says he’s all about winning, PolitiFact designates the many campaign misstatements of Donald Trump as our 2015 Lie of the Year.

When it comes to inaccurate statements, the Donald was on fire

Trump continually asserts that Russia’s meddling in the 2016 election is fake news, a hoax or a made-up story, even though there is widespread, bipartisan evidence to the contrary.

When the nation’s commander-in-chief refuses to acknowledge a threat to U.S. democracy, it makes it all the more difficult to address the problem. For this reason, we name Trump’s claim that the Russia interference is a hoax as our Lie of the Year for 2017.

Readers of PolitiFact also chose the claim as the year's most significant falsehood by an overwhelming margin.

Pants on fire lie.Other fact checkers also agree with them on Trump lies

Oh... I agree that Trump lies, but Politifact is very good at tracking the "lies" of politicians they dislike while ignoring or supporting the lies of politicians they like. They are very much aligned with their owners, the Tampa Bay Times, and have lost any type of objectivity or independence over the last decade. Sad.

What's sad is that Republicans seem to have lost any sense of what's actually true. No critical thinking anymore.

There is no question that Donny Dumbo is both ignorant and a YUGE liar. That they cannot recognize this is truly disturbing.

Or maybe they recognize it, and don't care.

When you can't argue your point, just point to an authority, right? Argument from authority is a well known fallacy and pointing to a far left wing site like politifact does nothing to help your argument.

As far as their Pulitzer, they got that in 2009 back when they first started. News organizations change and also it's not like Pulitzer prizes have never been awarded for fake news before.
