I'll try and keep and open mind...Last bottle of "clasico" I opened smelled odd....I'm guessing they inject some inert gas in there. Tasted fine though. I think what I'm saying is, don't get put off it smells weird.

One more thing about the fresh/instant discussion. There is nothing quite like the aroma of freshly brewed coffee. Supposedly, freeze drying captures the aroma better than does spray drying, so I'll see what's what on the weekend. However, I remember drinking Taster's Choice years ago, which advertised its freeze drying process, and I don't recall it measuring up to the aroma of fresh brewed.
As with everything in life, I suppose, it's a trade-off.
P.S. Still snowing.
Keep us posted.I'll try cold brewing ground here in the fridge tonight and microwave heating to just drinking temp tomorrow.
I'm not denying that Donald Trump is a narcissist. I'm pointing out the humor in an actor calling others narcissists.View attachment 227227
All I can say is people need to see that Trump is driven by a specific defect in his physical brain.
Having worked in anti poaching (hunters) and with police a lot in the UK, abrnomal mental behavior becomes something you can't help but see clearly. There are ways to deal with pushy normal people, reason with them, but a psychopath or narcissist.. They are thinking animals however if you can't given them what they want you often need to be unpleasant to protect others.
Even if we are to accept your premise that Bugenhagen is a narcissist because he has done some acting, you have to acknowledge the magnitude of Trump's narcissism if Bugenhagen is offended by it.I'm not denying that Donald Trump is a narcissist. So I bought the Gold Dark Roast because I could not find the Clasico Dark Roast. It is more fragrant in the jar than the Gold "Espresso" but does not taste better or have much of an aroma after preparing it. I think I prefer the "Espresso."I'll be buying some freeze dried tomorrow, for comparative purposes. If I can't find their Clasico Dark Roast, I'll get their Gold Dark Roast, which I believe is freeze dried:

Here's the thing. Whereas the "Espresso" is "100% Arabica," the Dark Roast is "blended with" Arabica beans. Hmm. That's a bit like hamburgers "made with" real beef...
So it looks like the Dark Roast (at least the Gold, if not the Clasico) is also made with cheaper Robusta beans. Even the Clasico label says "100% pure coffee" without mentioning either type of bean:
https://www.nescafe.com/us/en-us/our-coffees/nescafe-clasico-dark-roast-instant-coffee-jar
So it looks like it is a trade-off between a better bean and a better process. What to do, what to do? Well, as I noted, I think I prefer the "Espresso." It has a very slightly higher rating among consumers on the Nescafe site, although the Dark Roast has far more reviews.
