That's why it is called the ESTIMATED Infection Fatality Rate (IFR) while the Case Fatality Rate (CFR) is known and not estimated.
The fact check article states that the CDC did not provide the false data per age group being pushing on social media by COVID-deniers. The CDC statement is in context of that statement.
The CDC just told you the CDC does not have the data to estimate survivability.
