Trumper's won't get vaccinated. Want to stay locked down forever

hey anti science moron ... remember you use to tell us that we had to get to a certain level for herd immunity...

from your article...

The director of the CDC said that there is no magic target for herd immunity, but that she thinks getting to 70% would go a long way toward protecting the community.

States that fall well below vaccinating 70% of adults are 'sitting ducks' for an outbreak, expert warns

The US is pushing to have 70% of adults get at least one dose of the Covid-19 vaccine by July 4, but an expert said that number is important to reach at the state level too -- and those states who are falling well below may be vulnerable to another outbreak.

"There are 12 states that are already at 70%. I worry about the ones that are way below that, and they are sitting ducks for the next outbreak of Covid-19 -- which shouldn't have to happen now," National Institutes of Health Director Dr. Francis Collins told CNN's Chris Cuomo.

Sixty-three percent of adults have received at least one Covid-19 vaccine dose, according to data published Thursday by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

But President Joe Biden's goal of 70% of adults having at least one vaccine dose has met a significant obstacle -- a dwindling number of people who want to get vaccinated.

The seven-day average of newly administered doses has fallen below 1 million per day for the first time since January, according to data from the CDC.

The director of the CDC said that there is no magic target for herd immunity, but that she thinks getting to 70% would go a long way toward protecting the community.

"We have pockets of this country that have lower rates of vaccination," Dr. Rochelle Walensky said. "I worry that this virus is an opportunist and that where we have low rates of vaccination are where we may see it again. And so really the issue now is to make sure we get to those communities as well."

Alaska, Arkansas, Georgia, Idaho, Louisiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Wyoming are among the states with the lowest vaccination rates.

And for those who feel they don't need the protection of the vaccine, Collins said to think of getting doses as a "donation" to those in communities who -- for reasons like chemotherapy and organ transplants -- aren't necessarily protected against Covid-19 by vaccinations.

Remember the scientific part that there are two figures -- the first is the level of immunity which drives a significant slowing in growth of cases. This value is always above 50%. The higher the percentage the greater the slowing of infection across society. The second number -- based on the R0 factor of the disease - is the percentage of society needed to achieve herd immunity. For COVID this value is not known yet due to variants with different infectiousness -- but Israel is showing the herd immunity value is likely above 80% for COVID.

Keep in mind that this discussion is about the percentage of adults that must be vaccinated to achieve the slowing of COVID infections to a reasonably low level. The article is not about percentage of vaccinations across all of society (since children over 12 only recently were allowed to be vaccinated in the U.S.) but simply getting adults to 70% vaccinated to slow the spread of COVID to a reasonably low level so we will not have bad flare-ups in communities.

a. what level has to be always be above 50% and why?
are you referring to a model? whose?

b. if you understand that 20 percent of the people do 80 percent of the spread... you model almost has to be dogshit unless it is a dynamic model... which would indicate you might only need 20 to 30 percent of the populace to be naturally immune. (which some scientists have written papers on) .

c. Rnaught is not static

d. we have no idea how many people have been infected or immune.

these are just a few a the reasons why there is no magic number.
They / we could never accurately calculate it.

There's A Stark Red-Blue Divide When It Comes To States' Vaccination Rates

Less than a month remains until the Fourth of July, which was President Biden's goal for 70% of American adults to have gotten at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.

It looks like it's going to be a stretch to get there.

As of Tuesday, nearly 64% of U.S. adults have had at least one shot, according to data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The key issue is that demand has dropped off. After an initial crush, the number of doses being administered daily is on a steep decline from the early April peak.

So what's going on? A few things to note:
  • There's a huge political divide. Speaking over the weekend, former President Donald Trump took credit for the vaccine rollout and told a North Carolina crowd of supporters that "most of you" have likely been vaccinated.
  • But surveys have shown Trump supporters are the least likely to say they have been vaccinated or plan to be. Remember, Trump got vaccinated before leaving the White House, but that was reported months later. Unlike other public officials who were trying to encourage people to get the shot, Trump did it in private.
  • The top 22 states (including D.C.) with the highest adult vaccination rates all went to Joe Biden in the 2020 presidential election.
  • Some of the least vaccinated states are the most pro-Trump. Trump won 17 of the 18 states with the lowest adult vaccination rates. Many of these states have high proportions of whites without college degrees.

Guess which one is an infectious clown who will probably land up in a hospital whining that he didn't think COVID was real.

Wondering if u actually know many people who got covid. The repulsive pig on the left is the one closest to a hospital bed, covid or not.
