Trump won’t definitively say he still backs Bannon

Please. Let's see you be on TV and social media 24/7 and not say something stupid from time to time. Hell, you do it on here and you're not even famous!

It only seems unusual to you because of your hyper-partisan views and your absolute loathing of Trump. If it were Obama, you'd never be paying any attention.
My opinion is, of course, your wrong, the frequency of gaffes in the new administration is unusually high. Nevertheless, you've made you opinion sufficiently clear.

Trump reached out to Trudeau on the attack to express his condolences. People seem pretty pissed off that he didn't "tweet' about it, and that, I guess is what makes him racist. You seem pretty convinced he's a racist. Liberals like yourself are quick to label anything you don't like as racist, it's pretty much their modus operandi.

Did the FBI stop going after other criminals? Do law enforcement agencies have a directive to stop arresting anyone non-muslim that is a potential threat? Or are resources just being funneled to groups based on threat level? Seems like the latter to me, unless you have some Justice Department memo I've not seen.

The people with family and friends who were killed in Orlando, San Bernadino, etc might disagree with you calling it a non-issue. I certainly do. And the claim that Bannon wants this discord to continue is your opinion. Noted. Several times. You think he's a racist, too. Got it. But that doesn't make it factual. Come to think of it, you probably think I'm racist as well.

Why should I read it? It's not that I agree with Trump and Bannon on this race issue. It's that I don't think this is a race issue in the first place. I think it's smart border protection. So do millions of Americans (the majority on this topic) who are in agreement.

I chose the psuedonym Tsing Tao because I like that beer. Probably makes me racist.

This administration is based on racism. It's not based on safe borders. In fact it's likely the second ban will be rejected only because of Trump's rhetoric. It has riled up his base. Bannon is a racist. Trump is a master manipulator - which is why most his base is going to be disappointed after 4 years.

I'm not saying you are a racist.

The book I recommended is a tale of a coming war as a result of immigration. It is horribly racist. And Bannon has cited it many times to describe the world. If he had cited Mein Kampf to describe the world would that not make him anti-sematic?

I'm a big fan of that beer too. I like beer made from most warm climates - they tend to be lighter and more refreshing.

Those who are hyper-partisan usually see their views as mainstream and are rarely aware at how one-sided their opinions tend to be.

About the only thing we're going to agree on is the beer, apparently. I also like the lighter, more refreshing beers than the thick stout type stuff. Personally, I prefer wine. But when I drink beer, it's Tsing Tao (Dos Equis is good, too).

Good, civil discussion, newwurldmn. You are samurai, sir.

Agreed on both counts, except the wine. I'm a scotch guy mostly.

My opinion is the same. Where we would differ is in your assessment of me as hyper-partisan. In my view that would be a result of your own hyper-partisan nature, as explained by your own correct analysis of how hyper-partisanism affects one's viewpoints. Obviously this is an issue without impossible resolution. And therefore there can be no purpose in going further with it.

That's a good question. He called it a Muslim ban (showing his intent) but excluded any country where the Trump Organization had business operations: including Egypt and Saudi Arabia (nations from where actual terrorists have come into the US and committed acts).

A rational person could easily come to the conclusion the ban with its language was enacted to incite a racism while protecting the specific commercial interests of the president.
A rational person would not try to conflate the issues of religion and race. Only a race baiter would do that.

Technically there are only three races: Caucasian, mongoloid, and African. However in colloquial English there are many largely dictated by religion (i.e. Jew) or nationality (Indian) despite both actually being Caucasian.
Nice dodge. A rational person would not say that this administration is trying to start a race war between Christians and Muslims. Both religions have worshipers of all races.

The friends I hang out with - mostly - are scotch guys. I can't stand it. Every year we get together for a big Robbie Burns bash (many of them are Scots) and we do a scotch tasting and learn all there is to know about it. I've never been able to tolerate it.

Maybe, Tom. But not sure there are too many Caucasian Muslims.
