Trump trade war has failed to boost U.S. manufacturing...

I read your posts. It’s full of mental gymnastics. You said trump could have done more and now you are blaming others. He’s the president. He can do things by executive order. Plus a real leader gets buy in from all the interested parties. That’s leadership.

When you run a business (even one that you indisputably own) you still have to do this.

That is not what I said either. See this is why Trump is not being allowed to do what he wants to do. His words get twisted and distorted. With you, you seriously need to go back to school to learn how to read.

Trump is going for a second term!! All the remaining swing states are for Trump. The Senate is Republican. Accept reality. Trump is better.

There's a term for this when someone is elected President and the President can't accomplish much because the split in congress...Senate and House but I can't remember that term.
  • Maybe filibuster ?
Regardless, when the Republican's control one and the Democrats control the other...its a tough job for any President to get things accomplish.

In fact, its so common that its almost expected. For example, the current Stimulus Deal that's sitting idle until January comes to mind regardless if Biden wins, Trump wins or whomever takes office...unless...

One of the political parties gains a majority in both the Senate and the House that's in line with the President. In those situations, any agenda can be pushed much easier by the President.

republicans have shown they can get little done when they control the house, senate and Oval Office.

the reason is that you still need to get buy-in. The bid offer narrows but its still there.

Next, if an issue that needs to go to the supreme court, as a President, you need to stack the odds in your favor via trying to get a new Justice in place that's also in line with your views but there's no guarantee their due to the fact that new Justices are known to "defect" sort'uv speak and just strictly follow the law.

No. A filibuster is a situation where somebody stands up in Congress and talks non-stop to stop a bill from being passed. That process is actually legally allowed. The rule is 1) you must be standing the whole time when you are talking and 2) you must be talking non-stop with NO pause in between. And if you satisfy both of these criteria, for as long as you are talking, you cannot be interrupted and nobody can vote on anything because technically you are still debating it. There have been a few occasions where this tactic was used in US history to successfully block a bill from being passed.

The term you are looking for is called a "divided government" where the executive and the legistlative branch is controlled by two opposing political parties. With the situation right now, it looks like Republicans will gain control of the Senate while the Dems will control the House regardless who becomes the president. So regardless who's going to be in the WH, he will have difficulty in getting things done.

Yeah so I didn't say he didn't do a great job. In fact I believe he did the best he could and better in the beginning but what he could do was very limited by the amount of information and resources that he had. Biden would NOT have done better because he would've faced the same limitations as Trump. And in fact Biden didn't offer any solutions when we were (still are) in the middle of the pandemic except saving America's soul. :D

America's soul doesn't need saving; it's America's lives and jobs that do.

Except when he does his executive orders to try to get things done, he gets accused of breaking the constitution. So he never wins. Anyway you liberal trolls just don't know what you want and then you blame others for everything. And for you, you really don't know what you are talking about.

Anyway, I am done talking to you. Trump for a second term! Make America great again!!

If his executive orders violate the constitution then they are unconstitutional. You remember the constitution right? It’s a pretty sacred document for republicans - or it used to be.

how’s the election going so far? Is trump winning bigly? Did they stop counting the votes like he demanded?

bigly is not a word. You need to go back to school and stay in school, really. LOL

I think if you guys can keep the politics out of the manufacturing discussion...

There will be less debates and more critical thinking about manufacturing jobs. I know its tough to do considering there's an ongoing U.S. election.

Seriously, when I see all the bashing, hate, hyping, personal attacks via one liners...makes me see the reason why so many traders are struggling in their trades.

Too many can not stay focus and remove from their trading whatever is causing them to become emotional.

Now back to trading (me)...

Just my own two cents: Wall Street loves gridlock. And that's what we have. No sweeping popular mandate for Joe. No broad blue wave of gains that's for sure - just the opposite, there's now a pretty healthy Republican minority in Congress and it looks like McConnell holds the Senate. No Supreme Court majority to lean on.

If Biden pulls this out there's no way he'll get any legislation done without Republican support - in fact, he's kinda screwed.

Joe has zero chance to raise corporate taxes, raise capital gains, pack the Supreme Court, and blow up the filibuster. Not gonna happen now.

It wasn't supposed to be this close.
