I think if you guys can keep the politics out of the manufacturing discussion...
There will be less debates and more critical thinking about manufacturing jobs. I know its tough to do considering there's an ongoing U.S. election.
Seriously, when I see all the bashing, hate, hyping, personal attacks via one liners...makes me see the reason why so many traders are struggling in their trades.
Too many can not stay focus and remove from their trading whatever is causing them to become emotional.
Now back to trading (me)...

ok. Fair point.
my experience, running a manufacturer that competes with China, supplies
Chinese contract manufacturers, and sources from China is that the tariffs have done nothing to change our customers demand profile. Customers are willing to pay the tariffs.
which means, either the cost differential was so great that 20percent wasn’t enough; the complexity of changing supply chains wasn’t worth avoiding the tariffs; or they can pass the cost onto their customer. Each customers motivation is different.
I know of domestic manufacturers who have raised their prices 20percent just because they can now.
COVID, however has changed customer demand profile because they cannot rely on one geography making their product anymore for risk of pandemic related shutdowns.
