Your post only reflects that one has to buy goodwill when being a bully and wanting to be involved in every last corner of the earth. And even that does not seem to work all that well at all. If America tried to actually live peacefully among other nations and keep its nose out of businesses that does not concern the US then buying governments and dictators is not necessary anymore. Imagine what good could be done domestically if the 1 trillion military budget was instead disbursed on good courses inside the US. I am glad to see how most of the Nato countries are only verbally committing to higher defense budgets but actually have zero interest and won't increase their defense spending as percentage of GDP. Let Trump believe he gets good deals, as long as others stroke his ego then that is all he is asking for. Even Melania stopped stroking anything else but his ego. 
Not at all. You came rambling into this forum professing your amazing objective skills that give you the upper hand on when to take a liberal or conservative viewpoint depending on the issue. I liked that, this forum is clearly divided between the good guys and the evil guys depending on which side you align yourself with.

Since when can one not strongly defend one's conviction? I am massively opposed to America's military spending and military involvement in the rest of the world. Under any administration. That the good old conservative school of wanting a lean government and a balanced budget suddenly approves the largest military spending package in 100% peace times is the biggest hypocrisy in American politics ever.
Then this entire BS on pledging allegiance to a flag is utterly ridiculous. It's like a company asks me to be loyal in the interviews. I was asked that very same question when I applied for a front office job at Deutsche Bank right out of college. I told them I don't pledge loyalty to any company but if I get the job I pledge loyalty to my boss and team I will be working with. I got the job. As American I would never pledge loyalty to a flag, how pathetic. Nor would I even ever be able to say I would be proud to be American for the sake of being American. I would be proud to be American because this country has brought forth some role models and fantastic people I am proud to share the same citizenship with. When will most Americans ever learn to think with their brain rather than getting emotionally loaded up on each and every issue with their hearts and stomachs. The US has brought forth some amazing people but it also houses, percentage wise, some of the largest share of total idiots and dumb people. Have you ever compared a debate in the House of Representatives with one at the House of Commons in the UK. If, then you know exactly what I am talking about. Very few individuals make America great, most others are incredible leeches, selfish freeloaders and dumb as shit (across all political lines) . But people with a good heart at the right place (as long as you don't differ from their opinions). To some degree this assessment applies to every country, just to a larger extent to the US

That's the point. You are not being objective. According to your logic, we should have all these deranged dictators around the world wreak havoc in their own countries and neighbors because, alas, we should not get involved in other 'people's lives. Every single time humanity has shown weakness to evil doers in powerful positions, the price we have had to pay has been much bigger than if we, collectively, had dealt with the issue close to its inception. America needs to remain the most powerful nation in the world militarily because if not, other countries would be just too happy to take its place. That is the way civilization has worked for millennia and will work the foreseeable future, regardless of your 'strong conviction'.
Mate I never claimed to be objective on issues. I know where I stand on issues and defend my stance. I claimed its important to be objective on politics. I am equally appalled at where broadbased news media are heading and about this entire social media, PC, and LGBTQ BS. And I never hid my views on those issues, either.
And I agree with you if we "collectively" confronted evil doers. We did not do that in Vietnam and never since. There is no surprise we hardly ever won any military conflict since and including Vietnam. I disagree with the point on military involvement everywhere in the world. How many trillions have been wasted on useless military interventions. If America forged more alliances rather than always pushing ahead then there would be much broader based support and solutions could be had for a fraction of the current cost

Out of my usual generosity of spirit, I can meet you halfway on that.
We should form more and deeper alliances with allies who truly have our back and share our views. Macron's comments to Trump were truly in order when he reminded Trump that he should not or at least should try to not punish allies in his trade deals -although Trump's pushback is valid too in that allies should be participating in fair deals.
On the other hand we need to pull out of or diminish funding for all the phony alliances that are undermining American interests or where we fund them and then have to go off and do all the work they are supposed to be doing. The UN is Exhibit A. They are just a talky-talky society that colludes to screw the U.S or express their contempt for us while we continue to be its major funder. And they are as worthless as tits on a nun in brokering anything in Syria, the Koreas, global immigration etc. So you pay them and then still have to do all the work one on one. And then there is Iran Deal alliance, NAFTA, TPP and all that type of thing. I am not saying they need to be discarded but they need to pass the test of being in America's interest and the interest of allies who are truly on our side and we on theirs. If not. Then it is bedtime for bonzo for the deal. And their will still, unashamedly, be times when we will go it alone as needed. Unlike the Obama regime, we are not downstream from what the UN or the Europeans want.
