Trump tests positive for Covid 19

Death rate here in Florida has been dropping - 7 day average is 91.86. So is that great - 92 people a day?

Meanwhile the raw actual day to day deaths the previous 4 days were 106, 174, 127 & 110 or all above the average so that is not going in the right direction.

New cases have been stable to slightly down for a while now. Think that is because of course it stays warmer down here longer and "snowbirds" have not all arrived yet.

As for NY even though it's 7 day deaths average is only 7.27, that is the highest since Aug 18th. New cases average is 1124.86, highest since June 4th.

Nationally the deaths average, like Florida, has been dropping, but as well the previous 4 days are higher than the average itself. While new cases have been stable to slightly higher, but then again last 3 days have been above the average.

Anyway deaths always lag new cases so nothing to crow about.

Later when I have today's numbers, if I think of it, I'll post charts to give a clearer picture.

Overall death rate falling not because of herd immunity.
  • We do not yet have a vaccine.
You need to have a vaccine to induce herd immunity or be a country that kills off a very large % of its population (the old and weak)...no country has done such so far. Therefore, still no herd immunity.

The CDC recent statement...you've misinterpreted the comorbidity as if they did not have Covid-19.

Fact check - 1/3 of the population is walking around with an underlying medical condition. Now calculate how many millions represent 1/3 of the population and a large % do not know they have an underlying medical condition (e.g. high blood pressure). Now compare that number to the current infections / deaths for Covid-19...
  • The numbers don't add up...not even close.
Pretend you're one of those among the 1/3 of the population with an underlying medical condition. You have diabetes and heart problems. Both treated since your young adult life. Now you're 41 years old and not having any health problems because your diabetes and heart problems have been manage via medication / exercise / good nutrition.

Your life expectancy is 82 years. Today, you become Covid-19 positive at 41 years old and then you're on a ventilator because of difficulty in breathing...next you're dead 21 days later.

Covid-19 caused your death regardless to those other underlying medical conditions that you've have. Remove the Covid-19 illness...you're still out enjoying your life and expected to live to 82 years of age.

Exactly. Death rates not falling because of heard immunity but rather falling because of more treatments available to people after infection. Treatments such as the one they are using on Trump (Regeneron), convalescent blood transfusion, corticosteroids use, more ventilators added to our hospital inventories, etc... even some HIV anti-viral drugs are helping people already infected now.

Countries like Sweden which show heard immunity are very very different from the USA. They have small populations and no huge, over-crowded cities. Their population is much healthier than Americans...especially older people there. Their diet is much better. Their exercise is much better. They have a very high level of medical care (everyone is covered) and medical research (Karolinska Institute is one of the best medical research centers in the world and where the Nobel Prize in Medicine is judged and presented). The country itself is somewhat isolated from surrounding countries by water or by the fact that connected countries are also very sparsely populated. They already spend 10 months of the year indoors without even being locked down.

Infection rate rising, but death rate still falling. That signals herd immunity happening because less vulnerable people are getting infected and having mild to no outcomes. It's actually a good thing and the way all diseases have been successfully approached by society until the CV panic.
And 200k deaths? Check the CDC's recent statement - only 6% were definitively from Covid. Most had comorbidity, but Covid was written on the Death Certificate, meaning - they were dying already and just tested positive for CV. Maybe it accelerated it in some cases, but most of those people would have died within a few months.

Or that's the implication by the Center for Disease Control. Not that any of this is clear. Too much mud on the camera, imo.

Tired of idiots like you posting this crap. If only 6% were from Covid then you wouldn't be running massive infection and death rates far above most first world countries. When it comes to Covid, some of you are just jackasses, too dumb to shut up about things you don't understand.

Also, people are ignoring that there are observed risks of ongoing critical health issues for 3-6 months and possibly a lot longer. It's no cold or minor flu.

The only reason some of the North East states ( and parts of Canada initially ) had larger overall numbers is the outbreak hit there first before the medical community had any idea how to treat the disease and fully how to control the spread. The real shame is in areas like Florida that had that information, were lucky enough to not get hit early on, yet stumbled into a huge mess regardless because the public refused to listen to real medical knowledge.

It's because the Northeastern region of the US is full of very smart people who do not put up with bullshit.

We wear the mask, we use the hand-sanitizer, and we wash our hands when we get home.

It's so easy to see the problem, the wild turkeys here have scattered to the winds while saying, "Y'all infected? Well, F that."
