Interesting, but I doubt China can sit it out while the US and EU join forces in free trade agreements. Japan just signed a similar deal with the EU.
From what I was able to hear in the announcement the US and EU are forming a commision to look into unfair trade practices by WTO members = China. This is indeed the beginning of the end for China's rip-off trade mentality. IMO. Once the ball starts rolling I doubt anyone will want to stop it anyway. Exciting times!
Let's face it, the EU are masters at slowplaying negotiations that don't suit them. Ask the UK. They must realize however that Trump is not Obama and a symbolic agreement that goes nowhere will anger him. He's already threatened the ruin of the German auto industry with 25% import duties.
