Trump shuts down government in fight over wall he promised Mexico would fund

Now he went and blocked the pay rise.

Trump Blocks Federal Workers’ Pay Hike While They’re Out Of A Job
In the middle of a government shutdown, Trump ordered that federal worker pay not be increased for 2019.

The move is consistent with Trump's budget proposal and a notice to Congress in August, when he cited "serious economic conditions" in cutting pay to civilian workers. “We must maintain efforts to put our nation on a fiscally sustainable course, and federal agency budgets cannot sustain such increases,” he said at the time.

This from a guy who has increased the deficit 400 billion dollars a year in only 2 years.

What was the point of this post"? You added nothing to your previous argument.

Apparently you still do not understand how the system works. Congress can not unilaterally make laws without working with the President unless they can pass the bill with a veto proof majority.

So Congress needs to work with the President. Hence they are all responsible for the impasse.

Congress has already passed a bill funding the government.Republicans in Congress are the only thing stopping a veto override. All democrats would support it.

Well played GOP, well played, Trump is a well known penny pincher

Republican suggests Trump help pay for the wall, citing national debt
GOP Rep. Walter Jones is worried about how President Trump's border wall would add to the already mushrooming national debt, and he proposed some ways to fund the wall that wouldn't require more borrowing — including having Mr. Trump put up some of his own money.

The North Carolina Republican pointed out that the nation's debt is close to $22 trillion, and the annual deficit is expected to top $1 trillion. Republicans often voiced concerns over the national debt when President Barack Obama was in charge, but those public criticisms largely subsided when the GOP gained control of the White House.

They are. They sent and will continue to send him bills to fund the government.
Iraq War....trump's tax "reform"...whenever a republican has a really bad idea, they try and convince Americans that it will pay for itself...so consider the precedents here....

If Trump actually gets the wall built he has a chance at reelection...
I agree. No fan of Trump's by any means, but at this point of time that's his only hope of getting some traction and turning this thing around.

Why would Trump have to agree to everything in a democrat or republican funding bill without exercising his veto power?
Your argument is borderline moronic? Arguing as if there is no other side to this.

All sides are responsible.

When did Pelosi promise a tax payer funded border wall?

When did Shumer promise a tax payer funded border wall?
