Trump Says He Can Pardon Himself

And crickets from the boys on this I'm sure.

President Gerald R. Ford was never one for second-guessing, but for many years after leaving office in 1977, he carried in his wallet a scrap of a 1915 Supreme Court ruling. 'A pardon,' the excerpt said, 'carries an imputation of guilt,' and acceptance of a pardon is 'a confession of it.'

It's been amusing to watch his narrative change.

  • I didn't do the thing
  • and even if I did, it's not a crime.
  • and even if it is, I can't be charged.
  • and even if I can, I can totally pardon myself.

Trump doen’t realize the potential political benefits he could gain if he is impeached and the public correctly perceives he has been subject to a political witch hunt.

The political beneficiaries of this witch hunt are, of course, Hilary Clinton and Jeb Bush.

There appears to be a trail leading to the source of the Russian Collusion allegations and this may provide some pre-midterm election entertainment should something concrete(or not) be ready in time.
