That's a tad bleak. I've seen plenty gang bangers and addicts change their ways after they found "religion". If you truly believe that, then convict reform programs should be scrapped.

Trump carried out newspaper ads advocating death for innocent black teenagers without evidence of their crimes and then hounded the first Black President with birther crap. He attacked recently black athletes protesting peacefully and whatabouted when a Nazi killed a woman.

You just don't understand Trump. You're only parroting what the media has sensationalized. Have you ever met someone from Brooklyn, Queens, or the Bronx? They talk. They like to talk. And they talk with this air of confident arrogance. Anything someone says can be spun a half dozen different ways. Thats what they did with Charlottesville. I understood what he was trying to say when he said "there were decent people on both sides". He was just "talking". He meant nothing by it. He also condemned the idiots there.
And I never understood why the birther thing is considered "racist". Can you explain that to me? Seriously. Cause I never understood why that would be considered racist. It was about not being born in this country. What the hell does that have to do with being black? What if Obama were white? Trump still would have pushed that theory. He's a freakin' big mouth. He loves the limelight. He likes drama.
If you want to say anything negative... Trump is an "opportunist". If there's a buck in it for him he's all over it. He doesn't care what color a person's skin is, he's all about his money. He's a street smart NYC hustler. Call him greedy, call him a one way, you can even call him a womanizer... but don't call him a racist. He's not.

I do. I don't think its an apples to apples comparison. I'm not a psychiatrist, but its different. There's a huge physiological factor at play with substances.
A puppy can be trained to do a certain task early in its life that it will retain forever... but if it breaks its leg when its five years old it can no longer do that task until its leg heals. In this analogy, serious drug addictions are like "breaking a leg". It can be healed. But racism to the extent of being a Grand Dragon is an ingrained condition that can't be unlearned, just like a dog can't unlearn that which it was trained to do at a young age.
