Trump Plays Dangerous Game Of Chicken With Trade Tariffs

That's the reason why Trump is imposing taxes. So you just proved that the US is afraid for destroying jobs. In fact Trump tells the whole time: get back jobs to the US. So he confirms the US lost a lot of them.

So you posting should be:"Trump is already shit scared right now that the production of steel and aluminum will be dumped into the US destroying jobs in the US, so Trump blocked it."

Of course, the US has lost jobs due to NAFTA and globalism. What do you think this is about?
No, we are not scared shit because President Trump is correcting the problem. Now, you globalist shills think the party will never end. It is coming to an end and not to your liking!
I am proud of President Trump doing what is best for the USA. He is our President not any other countries!

The US situation is very similar to Britain 110 years ago.
No longer THE super power that she was. The others had caught up and doing commerce and manufacturing better. Being displaced as number one is a painful process.
Just as Britain had difficulty in adjusting to the new situation so has the US now.
It comes down to protectionism for national goods and services or letting them fail if they can't compete. A hard choice.

What? Obama's defeatist mentality much?

GDP is still #1 by far.

not protectionism.... Trump wants reciprocity, to reverse the unfair treatment that has been going on for long.

If we're running a surplus with Canada and Turkey why throw tariffs on them?

Unfair trade practices are there so, you do not really have capitalism as it should be! Globalists just want to enslave everyone which is their goal. I have no delusions that CEOs of Google, Facebook, Tesla are all globalists. They exploit everyone they can including, their host countries. Why do you think the European Union has levied billions in fines on Google among other things? Innovation is being developed daily. President Trump would rather that there not be a trade war nor tariffs because it would be better for everyone. However, unfair, one sided trade will not be tolerated. No one with any unfair trade advantages will give up that willingly. Why should they? Talking about socialism, majority of European countries are socialist. Now, you guys are telling us you are capitalistic? The European Union has imposed more tariffs on goods from other countries but, you call it the VAT tax. Still the same. Seems like sheer hypocrisy. Difference is the US is using tariffs as a cudgel to change bad behavior! European Union has tariffs on permanently although, they call it by another name!

US has had tariffs on goods for ages. Are you illiterate or just playing dumb? Obama created multiple tariffs as have all the other presidents. Negligible benefits if any, more typically harmful.
After the second World War, competing economies were destroyed and obviously the US was a big proponent of free trade as it would benefit them. As the tables turned, suddenly this system was a problem.

deficit with Canada...

Turkey? not sure, probably too small to move the needle.

The US has been running deficits against almost all countries.

Also, generally speaking -

At age 72 he is busting his rear working for the USA he loves. Watch some of his interviews from back in the 80's, there is no doubt in his patriotism. Nobody is perfect, but look at what has achieved in only 500 days.... no POTUS before had done so much! We are so lucky to have him... Support him!

People always say they want change in Washington.... now the changes are here, and people are scared? The country was almost at the point of no return after 8 years of Hussein. Thank God for giving us Trump to save America.

Trump is just squeezing money back into our economy instead of allowing other economies to squeeze us.
No he's not. He's just lying to his sucker base like you. He'll implement hardly any of what he claims, and maybe none of it. Trump's like the TV evangelist you sent money to. Does that help you in any way? Yes, of course it does. It makes you think your doing god's work. It helps the evangelist pay for his pink Cadillac too. So it's a win win. Same thing with Trump, sucker.

ok but with services thrown in were at a surplus, got it, thank you.
https://www.bea.gov/newsreleases/international/trade/2018/pdf/trad0118.pdf page 39 and Turkey is a $3 billion surplus with services for them as well, so services make up the difference. Wall Street has been pushing for a debt driven service based economy for decades.

Even the lefty media agrees that Trump keeps his campaign promises.

seasoned businessman who has built a real estate empire.... vs. a community organizer.

not exactly apples to apples..... support him, give him time to work it out! so far so good.
