But in general, this is just basic Judicial Rulings 101, where- as part of the remedy phase and ruling of the decision- the courts get to decide whether decisions that adversely affect parties are to be applied retro-actively or going forward or pursuant to a negotiated agreement between the parties on various elements. And would apply to this issue at hand.

I would be confident enough that many European countries simply changed to a system where the mother had to be in the country for a short period. I recall the discussions about African mothers arriving days before the baby dropped and hiding this from airline and ferry companies.

Frankly I would not have a problem with the second amendment being revisited to take out some of the ambiguity. I'm not opposed to bringing the constitution into the 21st century. I know that sets me apart from many of my conservative friends, but many of our current day problems are the result of outdated ideology. This would take a congress that actually wanted to solve problems rather than exploit them on the never ending campaign trail. Ain't gonna' happen.
