This is very dangerous ground for Trump. By pushing this voter fraud agenda the only thing he has to gain is ego, but to do that, he has to show over 3MM of fraudulent votes. If instead, his commission shows just a few certain counties or states with some fraudulent voting, it can undermine the entire legitimacy of his victory.

Not to mention that if Russia (or some domestic manipulator) did somehow break into the election system, it's clear that they wouldn't be doing it in California but rather Florida, Ohio and other swing states, which "voted" in favor of Trump.

It's like the Patriots demanding the Seahawks replay that last play in Superbowl 49.

It makes you wonder how unstable he is. Any rational Trump supporter should fear this whole political discourse.

This entire story is a classic example of the left trying to build a mountain out of a mole-hill. It actually detracts from their cause since while there may actually be examples of voter suppression in Alabama; this is not one of them. By running with this false narrative and ignoring the actual facts, the left hurts itself since the "controversy" quickly comes to naught with the least bit of sunlight, and future legitimate issues are ignored. In fact by framing this as a voting issue, the left already missed the actual issue which is the mistreatment of poor rural counties in regards to government services.

The mountain being that 8 of the 10 counties with the most minorities was targeted by Governor's mistress who said it was political. You can keep quoting comments, I will stick to local reporting. This is not something isolated, Republicans have been caught admitting these tactics in the past.

Every bit of this is so silly, when a very simple, highly reliable and inexpensive solution is at hand. But we can't do the obvious because politicians are as corrupt as Wall Street and each State is like and independent kingdom. We will never agree to the obvious. But we do pretty well considering we are hampered by our own nature and a two-hundred-plus year-old Constitution that was written when nothing moved faster than a horse. I have stated that I am opposed to gerrymandering and states need to have independent commissions establish election district boundaries and stop gerrymandering. The state I live in is one of the worse examples of gerrymandering in the country; federal courts have ruled NC must redo both their congressional and state legislature boundaries due to gerrymandering.

I am opposed to voter suppression. I have stated previously the exact practices I am opposed to using NC as an example. However the one thing I do support is picture voter id (as done in most democratic nations) - as long as there is a work-around to allow non picture-id holders to submit provisional ballot.

Amusing that you make that assertion without any context. Just how many populated minority counties are there in the state. Is there population decreasing? Are their DMV operations under-utilized? So many points addressed by the comments you ignored. Not to mention the fact that they can get a voting picture id for free at the county courthouse.

Is there population decreasing? Are their DMV operations under-utilized?

Those were not the considerations according to the investigative report and the guys in charge.
