Trump Increasing Tariffs to 25 %

A good chance to try the micro emini futures later, on the opening dip.

Is that going to be under the ticker, "MESM9"? I might run that up on my DOM to see what the volume is going to be like.

I remember trading the pit contract SP500 @ $250/pt. The e-mini was a "breath of fresh air" for traders when it came along, but now even it is too big for many players. I think the micro-ES will be a smashing success!!

There is generally a bullish and bearish interpretation of news. Be aware itcan go up as easily as down and the odds favor..up.

$250? $500 handles was not that long ago.

I'm not old enough to recall $500/pt.

The new e-micros are what, $5/pt?* Big diff.

*Could be thought of as "sucking in the smallest, lowliest, least educated/experienced into the market place.... before the "big smashola". (You know they say.... "won't end until the last $$$ has been sucked into the wrong side".)

Prolly all part of the scheme.

1. Trump says "25% tarriff"

2. Market sells off for a day or two, then

3. Powell gives Trump the 1% rate cut he's been whining for and announces QE4.

TO THE MOON!!

:)

That's exactly what I was thinking...

He wants to play with the fed, he wants a huge sell off so that the fed can come in lower rates and push more quantitative easing....he figures the fed isn't listening so why not play the china tariffs game all over again and cause a nasty selloff to get the fed to listen once again like they did in Dec/Jan when they announced no more rate hikes going into 2019 which caused a stampede back into the markets.
