Trump family trips cost taxpayers $11.3m in one month – almost as much as Obama’s cost in a year

I don't really see what you Americans are complaining about.
The US is a country of TRILLIONS of $ turnover. Even if the US taxpayer spends 3 million$/week,
or at least 150 million$/year on his trips, that's peanuts in the US budget.
Now, if he took straight 1 Trillion from the US coffers, then, I could understand the uproar, but
Trump is not doing that.

Because every dollar that has be spent needs to come from some other savings.

The Secret Service asked for 80MM additional funding to protect the Trump family as they galavant around the world. They were denied it. That money will come from other programs that benefit or support the rest of society like fighting human trafficking, etc.

And if you don't care about the other tasks that the Secret Service will defund to protect the Trumps, Trump held Barack Obama to a different standard (saying he was travelling too much) and Trump said he would be working a lot. So the hypocrisy is pretty evident.

Spot on. Each dollar he sucks out if the budget is financed by a tax dollar of someone to whom a tax dollar mist likely means a lot more than to Trump. When CIVIL SERVANTS forget what that term really means then that should have everyone worry.

Sure, don't come after me if I decide to shelter my income then.

Trump family trips cost taxpayers $11.3m in one month – almost as much as Obama’s cost in a year
Jaunts to estate in Mar-a-Lago, and secret service charges for his son's business trips across the globe, are costing American taxpayers

Donald Trump’s family’s trips have cost taxpayers nearly as much in a month as Barack Obama’s cost in an entire year.

The US President’s three visits to his Mar-a-Lago club in Florida since his presidential inauguration, combined with his sons’ business trips, reportedly cost $11.3m (£9.1m).

Conservative watchdog Judicial Watch estimated Mr Obama’s travel expenses totaled an average $12.1m in each of his eight years in the White House.

“This is an expensive way to conduct business, and the President should recognise that,” said Judicial Watch president Tom Fitton, speaking to the Washington Post.

“The unique thing about President Trump is that he knows what it costs to run a plane.

“Going down [to Mar-a-Lago] ain’t free.”

The three Mar-a-Lago trips in Palm Beach cost the federal treasury around $10m, based on figures used in an October government report analysing White House travel.

This includes cash for coast guards to patrol the exposed shoreline.

Palm Beach County Sheriff Ric Bradshaw also says it has cost local taxpayers $360,000 in police overtime for his three weekends in Florida since 20 January.

The Post also revealed it cost $88,320 to put secret service agents up in a hotel while son Eric Trump visited Uruguay to promote a Trump-brand condo tower.

and while in office he is taking full advantage and raising the provenance of Mar-a-Lago.

you sure of that? Last I heard was how residents of Trump branded real estate in Washington DC were horrified at what kind of campaign he ran? Some even considered selling.

Then Trump tower is inhabited by quite a number of thugs and individuals with very in-transparent sources of funding and shady backgrounds, some of the past tenants were even worse. Not sure any respectable business man or politician wants to consider Trump branded living going forward, whether in the city or as part of a resort....

The Trumps Are Wearing Down the Secret Service

Morale at the Secret Service has dropped to an all-time low and has become the least desirable government agency to work for, a new survey of federal government organizations reports. According to the New York Times, that’s because protecting the entire Trump family (and members of Trump’s administration) has completely worn its members down.

Between the president’s trips to and from Mar-a-Lago and the first lady’s full-time residence in New York, dozens of agents have been pulled off criminal cases from across the country to serve the Trump family in two-week stints. Not only are they understaffed to protect those they’re required to by law (partially because vice president and Dr. Joe Biden and Malia Obama still have regular protection, which will end as of this summer), but at Trump’s request, Secret Service detail has been provided for his four adult children, as well as administration members Reince Priebus, H.R. McMaster, and Kellyanne Conway.

“They are flat-out worn out,” Rep. Jason Chaffetz told the Times. Many of the agents were reportedly hoping for a break after a particularly strenuous election year, but instead have been bogged down by overtime work because of Trump’s (and his family’s) constant traveling.

Though Vice President Mike Pence hasn’t traveled nearly as much as Trump has during their 11 weeks in office, his protection is reportedly strained as well. Per CNN, a Secret Service agent on his detail was arrested and subsequently suspended Wednesday night after allegedly soliciting a prostitute at a D.C. hotel.

I suppose your income does not equal the US budget, and most Americans are happy to create the
first Trillionnaire President. Trump has really to be admired : as a Billionnaire, he certainly understood that to get to the Trillionnaire level ( and what a level), one had to go where there were 100s of trillions to take. Well the US budget is into Trillions. And nobody can fault him for doing what he knows best : how to siphon people's money - even US taxpayers money- to his coffers and family coffers. American taxpayers will be known as being the only country to have created the first trillionnaire President.
