Trump attorneys' letter to Mueller spells out legal arguments against Trump sitting down for intervi

Mueller has nothing. That much is obvious. The Russian collusion fairy tale turned out to be an own goal for the dems. Good luck trying to make an obstruction case based on Trump firing the clown Comey. The odds are better that Comey gets indicted, that is, if we had an AG.

The best thing for Trump is to go on TV and lay out the reasons he is giving Mueller a week or so to wrap it up. Let the dems scream, no one is paying attention any more.

You are just backing into the reasoning as all dems are. The goal is to impeach Trump and then back into some reasoning as to why that needs to be done. Whether he pleads the fifth or not does not matter. You will just move on to the next rationale.

Also, even though you and your ilk do not want to hear it, Trump is actually making major progress- with the help of the IG and investigative reporters- in regard to exposing Mueller's actions - which were set in motion by a corrupt Obama intel network- as a witch hunt. At some point, he may/will just declare "game over- I am not participating in anything/anymore, do what you have to do." And if he pleads the fifth and executive privilege as part of following through with that- don't be surprised if lots of people understand that and dont assume that he is guilty just because he does not walk into a trap. But then as discussed. The next move will be for Mueller, and people will be asking him to put on his case - because he must have a case even without trump's testimony, right? So let's see how that little fiasco works out too. The question then becomes "why are we impeaching someone on charges when the government can't even put on a case? Oh, I see, because just pleading the fifth in a witch hunt is an impeachable offense? Sure, okay, better make sure you win the senate for that type of argument.

And apparently you missed the substantial earlier discussion about how/whether Mueller can even get him into a position where he would have to plead the fifth without indicting him or attempting to indict him. Easy for you to do, not so easy for Mueller. Mueller's easy days are behind him unless he wants to just stick with picking off side players on bullshit charges. The pussy can't do the big kill. How many times have I had to point this out.

Trump is responsible for his actions. The goal of the Russia investigation is to determine any illegal activities between the Trump campaign and unregistered foreign actors, and anything else connected.

Trump’s lawyers have admitted he attempted to obstruct justice by writing an untruthful statement on behalf of his son regarding the infamous Trump Tower meeting.

You may not like that but it is connected to the heart of the investigation and it meets the standards for obstruction of justice. Again, here we are.

It is not Mueller’s choice to put Trump in a position to plead the fifth, it is Trump’s. He has to answer for not only the Trump Jr statement but also to Flynn shenanigans with Comey when he cleared the Oval Office.

Mueller may choose to indict Trump to compel testimony if Trump refuses to interview. Yes, that is a heavy, heavy - HEAVY - lift but this needs to be settled anyway at this point by SCOTUS.

So it is not really Mueller’s problem. He should follow common investigation procedures. Whether Trump abides or how SCOTUS decides is out of his hands.

But, the real question will be, if the president kills someone can he be indicted? If he can be indicted for that then where do we draw the line, felonies?

Mueller has a letter signs by Trump’s own lawyers admitting obstruction of justice.

I think the real question is what does the congress do after if Trump pleads the fifth.

I would agree this could be problematic IF there was credible evidence that TRUMP has committed a crime. There is none. Nada. Not one iota.
What is it Mueller needs from Trump that he has gotten in his investigation?
It's looking more and more like a witch hunt.

With assistance from The Russian Government.
Yup; those evil Russians cracked her like an egg :D

Well Trump’s attorneys have already admitted Trump attempted to obstruct justice when he dictated to the contents of a letter on behalf of Don Jr in regards to the Trump Tower meeting with Natalia whatever her last name is. That is obstruction of justice and directly related to the core of the investigation. There really is no question anymore.

There’s also the issues with the Comey allegations of Trump trying to pressure him about Michael Flynn.
