I see. Up on Mount Olympus you have evolved beyond all that and racial and ethnic diversity are not fundamental elements. That's why your systemic discrimination and abuse of First Nations people is a disgrace to Canada - at least to those- including the United Nations- who know about your dirty little secret. You have evolved beyond the need to address anything like that- but Canadians compensate for it by electing a Prime Minister who likes to go to other countries and celebrate their native cultures.
 
Knowing that defense spending is a big component of national budgets, I did a bit of digging.

What I find interesting is that last year Trudeau committed to increase Canadian military spending by 70 percent - after being pressured by the United States. But he hasn't done it yet. MacClean's just published an article in the Canadian press taking Trudeau to task for not following through on this vital national security commitment.

So, I find it curious for him to chide the US about debt, when he knows that he will have to incur quite a bit of Canadian debt very quickly in order to meet his own domestic commitment to upgrade existing and acquire more "hard" military assets.

Why "hard" assets? Canada has a huge border exposure to Russian air and naval assets. If you look at a global map it is just huge. Canada and Russia are currently fighting about Arctic natural resource and territorial claims. And Russia is constantly probing Canadian boundaries.

US Defense Secretary Mattis has been telling NATO member countries that the US will no longer shoulder a disproportionate share of NATO spending. Secretary Mattis has also informed Canada separately that they will have to do more themselves to ward off Russian air and naval incursions into Canadian territory.

Canada's past concerning First Nations cannot compare at all to the atrocities concerning black people and slavery in the US. We own that mistakes were made by other Canadians in the past. Americans however continue to deny true understanding and responsibility for more recent atrocities committed by Americans; for example, like dropping two atomic bombs on Japan, invading Vietnam, invading Iraq, drone attacks in the Middle East, ... .

In fact, in current times, Canada is often the voice of reason on the planet while you still elect Presidents that openly encourage nuclear wars. Canada's image on the world stage far exceeds that of the US and it really doesn't matter what some under educated dumb ass like you thinks on the matter.

The United States had greater atrocities because we are a country and Canada is just the size of one of our larger states. And in the 1800's most of Canada was just maple trees, moose shit, and prairie so lack of population spared you from many of the problems that inhabited countries were having. Otherwise, Americans inherited the practice of slavery and slavetrading from the British from which many Canadians are also descended as well, eh? But we get it. Canada never had or has a problem because you can always deflect it by saying that the Americans have a greater problem.

Because you are not familiar with either past or current Canadian history, or else you are ignorant of anything outside Toronto, you thought that I was referring to treatment of your First Nation natives as something that happened long ago. WRONG. Wise up and try to learn something about Canada. Your current treatment of First Nations people is repugnant and a filthy, dirty secret that Canada leans over backwards to hide. Dont even attempt to get uppity with me or the Americans on the issue of treatment of minorities. Oh, that's right. You are the one who has evolved beyond skin color as an issue. Not a message that has gone over well with the natives who are wondering why you white boys keep coming to the land that was once theirs but you fall all over yourself giving benefits and immigration enticements to white folk who know how to code or muslims who want a better life while they are being ignored.

No. Not talking about the past at all. Wise up. As I said above, the only reason Canadians have done less abuse is because lack of population created fewer opportunities to do it. And then of course there are immigrants who come with your additude which is hey man, not my problem, it all happened before I came and I am making good loonies here so dont bother me with all that other stuff.
