Trudeau: U.S. Debt is Not Sustainable

No shit, Canuck. But get your own house in order before you criticize your neighbors.

I doubt Trudeau's popularity in the U.S. is of much concern to Canadians, especially considering the U.S. chose a barely literate failed casino operator with a mental disorder as their President. Canada seems to be doing just fine right now. Actually in comparison to the U.S., they are doing magnificently.

you will be lucky if you are half as energetic and mentally sharp at age 72... not a stab on you... I would be lucky as well.

Failed casino - yes, but that's how real estate biz works when you have a large portfolio, you isolate the damages locally. So the entire empire still thrives.

Not so sure about Canada... EWC has been going sideways for how many years already? or is it decades.

For what it's worth, nobody in this country actually 'voted' in Trudeau directly - our election system is not like the US; we cannot cast a separate vote for prime minister. We vote only for local party members and by default, the leader of the party with the most votes becomes PM.

Trudeau is not a favourite of Canadians although he is coveted by a minority... He is a hazard of our antiquated election system.

.

I hear ya. Canada is a parliamentary system

Just for giggles and to keep things complicated, in the U.S we technically do not vote directly for the election of the president either. We vote in favor of a candidate which then - determines how your states representatives to the "electoral college" will or should vote when the Electoral College meets to cast the actual/constitutional vote for president.

It may sound like I am getting academic, but sometimes it makes a big difference. Just ask Hillary. She got more votes by the people for president but lost the election.
