Trend Following-Trend Commandments

Quote from MAESTRO:

That has just proven again the sheer lack of your manners, absence of any tact and your abnormal arrogance so explicitly shown in all of your books.

My name is Dr. Alex Bogdan and with that I demand that in your next post you explicitly state your definition of a trend since the whole discussion has started with your inability to answer my very simple question.

So, Mr. Covel, do you accept the challenge or you are going to coward away again and hide behind your "publicly available views"?

Cheers,
MAESTRO

Just be aware that his M.O. is to publish a critique of anyone who hurts his feelings in his next pamphlet, once he discovers her/his real name.

You'll notice he bizarrely hunts down people critiquing his material on Amazon.

information sh be free in the spirit of the internet, people sh not have to pay for books that are 1. expensive 2. a collection of materials that are someone elses' 3. has nothing substantial in it, 4. whereby the lazy author tries to get other posters into doing his homework by providing him ready answers 5. keep peddling same crap looking for more suckers to buy his books

Is that where you go for testosterone replacement therapy?

Seriously, I know that was a pretty unprofessional comment, but so is the garbage spewing from your and Maestro's keyboards. I know some serious CTAs, and none of them would come on ET for a cult following (with no proof of their performance) or to spar with other vendors/authors/etc.

This is a joke, along the same lines as Hershey and Prof "Hush or I'll Sue" Logic.

Yes, there are a lot of unprofessional comments in this thread. It's a shame.

I don't know who you are referring to but Dr. Bogdam is no more a cult leader than Abby Cohen is. He is just someone respected in his field. Does having one's respect piss you off that much?

Great success in all your endeavors.

Covel is going to give you a CW oriented response, perhaps.

That is what I thought! I am also finishing my book that I too will offer for free to whoever is interested. All of us, including my partners, are sponsors of many education institutions and we believe in propagation of knowledge, not in making a quick buck for the expense of poor naive souls.

So, Mr. Covel, are you currently calling to all of your friends and asking them to help you to define a trend? I have never thought that the author of the "Trend Commandements" would have no clue of what the Trend is! Helarious! :D May I suggest Wikipedia or Google? it might help.

Well, may be I need to simplify the question.

If you flipped a coin 10 times and all ten times it landed on "heads" does it mean that you are in a "head" trend?

It cannot be simpler than that. So, what is your answer, "YES" or "NO"?. We will go from there.

No trend-following at Dr Bogdan's shop ...

"The beauty of what QAT has developed is that it can be applied to anything that trades electronically - not just futures," says Dr. Bogdan. "It's a systematic algorithmic trading platform that picks up behavioral signals and provides input and then acts upon it."

"Most computer trading systems are driven by trend-following and pattern recognition methodologies - QAT's system is neither of those," said Mr. McGovern.

Rodney, you're an adorably loyal attack dog. You need more work, but soon you will be taking after the master himself in your attempts to discredit:

In this episode, our hero hunts down a 36-year old mother of three who wrote a 2-star review of his book. He locates her blog, where she talks of her clinical depression, and apparently throws it back in her face on Amazon.com.

At the risk of pulling down a tu quoque here, I wonder if you have an opinion on the ethical implications of this behavior in a person who, ostensibly, longs to be considered a "public figure".
