Trend Following-Trend Commandments

Maestro,

I have spent the last 18 months trying to reverse-engineere a RTM strategy based on your many posts. It's not been easy, but finally I think I've got something that is both mathematically and intuitively sound and acceptable. I'll spend the next weeks doing the programming (I have an Automated Trading Platform).

The thing I have created is a real monster, but I think it is beautiful. Hopefully this monster will generate money, I'll get my answer soon enough. If the strategy doesn't work out it has still been a stimulating (and exhausting) intellectual exercise.

To sum it up the strategy is based on synchronization. The rest is all about probabilities and math. Linear Algebra has been very useful.

Rodney, you're an adorably loyal attack dog. You need more work, but soon you will be taking after the master himself in your attempts to discredit:

In this episode, our hero hunts down a 36-year old mother of three who wrote a 2-star review of his book. He locates her blog, where she talks of her clinical depression, and apparently throws it back in her face on Amazon.com.

At the risk of pulling down a tu quoque here, I wonder if you have an opinion on the ethical implications of this behavior in a person who, ostensibly, longs to be considered a "public figure".

Game, set & match.

Nice fantasy yarn. I had to refresh my memory. If you feel a kinship to that one, be my guest.

My big question to some of you guys: are you really disagreeing with the content laid out in my books? Really? I have seen the assorted rants and raves, assorted attacks and squeals, but what in the books are you exactly disagreeing with? Waiting.

I believe the question is what do you define as trend?

Let's hear it. Come on. Enough of the Star Wars/Dr. Phil resumes, and cult followers on too much Kool-aid, what in the world are you disagreeing with? That does mean some of you might actually have to read the books to have a conversation.

I only post it to hint that it might be a bad move to get the smear machine all geared up again. You three non-trading salesman of ET (i.e., you, Rodney, and marketsurfer [bon voyage sweet prince]) seem to crave digging into personal lives when you find out real names.

Clearly you see no ethical problems with what you did. But evidently you realized that this behavior is bad PR, so you deleted your own smear comments all over Amazon.

I realize you don't understand why so many critics across so many media seem to all say similar things, and that they don't behave that way towards other writers, and that you need to shut them up. But chasing people down doesn't help you or anyone else.

It seems that the posters here never get a direct answer from you. I see them rant about you ignoring the questions you are asked that you refuse to answer. Asking questions is not attacking. I don't see them attacking but responding to your attacks in your posts.

You could solve all of this simply by answering the questions that were already put to you.

That and a public apology to that woman you attacked in your blog. I don't think a rational person on earth would disagree with the way you acted toward her.

.

You asked for my name, I gave it to you. I asked you a direct question in return and you did not answer. It says it all. To me this thread is over. You are on my ignore list and I no longer want to communicate with a person who's comprehension level is still at the grade 3 level. Lack of intelligence, manners and tact is not a crime, it's just a sad reality of our world. Good luck peddling your trash! For the record, I have just received a twitter request from psmf @psmf; I wander who would that be ....?

'Trend Commandments' has a chapter for cranks and squeals. Starts p. 193. If there are more classic statements made on ET those can be included in the next edition. In the short term I will wait for Dr. Star Wars to explain where the books are wrong. Waiting.

Quote from MAESTRO:

Well, may be I need to simplify the question.

If you flipped a coin 10 times and all ten times it landed on "heads" does it mean that you are in a "head" trend?

It cannot be simpler than that. So, what is your answer, "YES" or "NO"?. We will go from there.
YES, that is a "head" trend. Does it matter? Sure: the coin may be weighted.
