Trend Following for Idiots (Order Restored)

Love IT to death...Mahket surfer.....

While you were posting about the impossibility of using trend...I have been in the trade...doing precisely what you say cannot be done.

The posts are a little out of sync, but as those who are downloading the charts will testify, this is about right on the money...

Short setup on the reversal....short entry on the 5 min chart

profits at the pivots...

Stopped out at B/E on the second half of my position..

Please don't let me stop you folks from arguing as to whether it can be done or not....

I do believe that the longer the time frame the more difficult prediction becomes so it makes a lot of sense to me to trade the shorter time frames. Of course things get difficult when you get over a thousand cars.:p

Really? There is no implication here? Such as your many references to JWH's recent drawdowns in another thread with JWH's name in the title and you as its author? To which your earlier post most assuredly alluded? You are such a pompous, disingenuous and obfuscating jackass that I cannot imagine why anyone wastes time in any exchanges with you. About JWH:
The last year performance is worse than the last 5 years return and the last 5 years return is worse than the annualized returns since inception.
This is so for every programm of JWH. This means that he is going down the hill since several years already. His trendfollowing system only worked well in big moves. The markets have changed the last years.
Your argument that trendfollowing doesn’t work because JWH cannot make money is completely wrong. John Henry’s system is not sophisticated enough to work in the actual markets.


Performance is linked to finding the trend.
