Trend following is the way to make the serious money in this business, no matter if it is index futures or not. Index futures are the some of the least trendy markets, but do still have trend.
The reason that most trend followers fail is that they attempt to buy the breakouts and breakdowns instead of finding the reversals. When you buy breakouts or sell breakdowns, you are forced to make your stops larger than you would otherwise. By learning to find the reversals and then follow the new trend, the trader is able to pare losses which is what trading is all about anyway--Cut losses short, and let winners run. This is true even in index futures. Thank you for your time.

Highly doubt it marketsmurf.....here is a more recent piece....apparently he reversed his Yen position right before it popped and cleaned up. Your jealousy of him is hysterical.

Henry celebrates intramonth 15% gain
John W. Henry, chairman of John W. its indeed sad that you consider education and conversation on the internet a waste. particullarly, since you spend much time reading the material.
the fact still remains that knowing the past price movement does not provide one an edge upon entry--- to believe otherwise is known as the "trend following delusion".
JWH can't find the trend, how do you expect to?
