Trend Following--Another Nail In The Coffin

Quote from marketsurfer:

well, i consider this a failure to back up your claims. If its as well defined as you state, there will be no problem with testing across a significant number of vehicles/times. nothing to do with fudging numbers.

yes, you are correct--- i don't consider seeing a magician perform tricks as empirical proof of magic.

So what you're are saying is that you aren't smart enough to debunk what I do in person, in front of real people in a real time trading situation, is that correct?

what's your opinion of covell?

I like Covell.. he is a great trend follower, the trend of selling overpriced seminars, books, tapes etc to the gullible.

Trading Markets just published this interesting bit of research regarding buying/selling stocks after consecutive up/down days.

Surf,

You claim to be a good friend of Niederhoffer and yet it seems like you don't know what his performance was in 06' or don't want to share. Which one is it?

Quote from illiquid:

What if there is an 80% chance buying the new high will net you 1 tick, but 20% that selling it will net you 5?

How does a statistical trend (what you call proof) differ from a price trend, in that it 'works' until it doesn't?

Trading in a trending environment doesn't mean buying new highs or selling new lows. I means buying INTO the last high from its last low or selling INTO the last low from it's previous high. Each based on its current defined and confirmed trend.

I offer a forum of non believers and you should be making enough money between being a shill for Niederhoffer and your hedge fund to want to embarrass me for free.
