In almost 7 years since that statement there are individuals that have surpassed Mandelbrot's tunnel vision grasp of this specific environment. Most will agree that Mandelbrot's assessment of fractals and how they relate to technical analysis is lacking at best. His understanding of fractals as a whole though is flawless. Heck he created it.
