Trading with Fractals

Quote from Gabfly1:

If memory serves, Benoit Mandelbrot, the father of fractal geometry, wrote in 2004 that he believed there were only about 30 or so people in the world at that time who had an adequately functional understanding of fractals. Are you one of them?

In almost 7 years since that statement there are individuals that have surpassed Mandelbrot's tunnel vision grasp of this specific environment. Most will agree that Mandelbrot's assessment of fractals and how they relate to technical analysis is lacking at best. His understanding of fractals as a whole though is flawless. Heck he created it.

This is the problematic comment . . . IF. . . the pattern repeats itself.

The two patterns you show are not the same (fractals or self similar patterns) they are close but definitely not the same so why are you correlating them? I'm not trying to be argumentative just want to see what you think you see.

Are you kidding me? You've gotta be kidding me.

You know how many firms/funds run models like this all the time. One in particular had a hell of a track record (caught the '87 crash) and everyone seems to have a hard-on for him.

while it admittedly looks tempting...
please analyze the following fractal birth in detail to see if you can decipher whether it was a boy or a girl.:D

I'm sorry, I forgot there is only one way to trade the markets that is possible to earn profits.

I was momentarily overcome with intelligence . . . I'll try not to let that happen again in your presence.
