Trading while trying to lose weight on Atkins

Quote from LongShot:

GG you couldn't be more correct. You don't get down to 5% fat levels sitting on your derriere. On the contrary you would have to know much more the fine art and science of nutrition and proper exercise physiology than your average lard butt looking to drop a few pounds. I would wager whomever made that dumb comment is fat, has always been fat, and will ever be F-A-T.

Congrats on your achievements. keep up the good work.
right on, dude. thx

great conclusion...NOT! this is one of the worst comments i've seen in this thread. i was not in the shape i'm in now my whole life. i've never been terribly out of shape, but i had to work (and continue to) make myself get into TOP shape. the same principles apply if you go from 10% body fat to 5% or if you go from 30% body fat to 15%.
Oh, I see... you have the same experience on losing weight as a guy who has been on 40 different diet plans over 20 years and needs his stomach stapled.

i'm not superman. i am a human being. the difference between how i get into shape and how another person gets into shape is going to be miniscule at best. ENERGY BALANCE APPLIES TO ALL HUMANS.

The guy you describe does not know the first thing about nutrition. So in answer to your Q - No, GG does not share this pitiful experience (thankfully).

The subject was: "...experience in how to lose weight."

Well ...

Obviously this "guy" described has NO experience in losing weight :D
So all overweight people have no experience because they supposedly never lost any weight?

Losing weight particularly when obese is not rocket science. The equation is quite simple -- Don't eat too many calories. It is that simple. Really. The weight will come off. Granted, over longer term one needs to be concerned with getting proper nutrients but this isn't so difficult. Less calories is the key.

Now getting to 5% or less bodyfat is not that easy to achieve. That takes real discipline and know how and determination. GG results are quite remarkable. You should be treating him with a little more respect for this. :)

My premise is that the 10% to 5% BF has got nothing to do with losing weight or dieting.

Are you talking from experience? :)

Getting from lean to very lean is not all that easy as it may seem. Body is doing all it can to conserve calories and add fat stores at those levels. It gets pretty damn efficient at finding every spare unburned calorie for fat. Your food intake is so low for so long can be difficult to get proper nutrients. Takes time, effort and know-how to do it safely.

Where are you going with this? :)
