axeman i agree with most of what you say but the insulin spike is pure conjecture. unfounded, unsubstantiated, unproven. that was doc atkins HOOK.

TM, because what I have to say directly impacts THIS topic. that's why. we're talking theory here, the science or lack thereof behind atkins. what do you want to do,, share recipes? go right ahead. i wont stop you.
Well, yes actually... people have been talking about recipes. However, having to defend the diet over and over to anyone who feels the need to debunk it, as you seem to feel is your calling, has actually stopped people from discussing the diet.
Now. I'm all for free speech, but it really does seem that you've had your say on this topic. Do you mind dropping it? If you must continue to debunk the low carb diet, why don't you create a discussion for it?
As it is, this discussion was set up to discuss implementing the diet and changing one's lifestyle. We've had at least two people come in and slam it. Ok, fine... I do agree that any subject should be able to handle some questioning and criticism. But this is the second go around for us. Now that you've expressed your views, it seems that the reasonable thing to do would be to show some respect for this macro community and withdraw, temper your posts or simply drop the subject.

Thank you. I posted here much earlier than FPC arrived. And I find that his posts attacking people personally offensive. I have not complaned on the link in the right corner, as whom am I to complain? I am simply just a member of the community. When I go to threads FPC seems to pop up after my arrival and pester, badger and generally cause unhelpfull developments.
Elite trader is a marvelous community for traders to come to and discuss concerns, chit chat, participate in journals....etc.
But please Andre' please search FPC posts and you will see that to retain him as member of this marvelous site that you have created would be hurting you more than helping....
This is my humble opinion and do what you think is necessary, if you even feel there is a slight bit of truth to what I am saying....if not then fine I accept your leadership, and thank you again for your contribution to traders all over the world.

1) I stated up front that I did not remember if this
was backed up by any reasearch or not.
2) It was in the ZONE, not Atkins diet.
3) I think insulin spiking by food is already well known
among diabetics. Glycemic indexes have been used by
diabetics for a long time.
4) This article seems to back up what was told in the ZONE diet.

I challenge you to do a search of FPC and try to understand my point. This is not personal for me.....and I really do not think further discussion is necessary......If Elite Trader thinks this sort of contributution by FPC is what they want to display....then fine I accept that....now can we get back to the matter at hand?
